Momma Bean won't be messing around today. Here's hoping for blues and maybe greens, low yellows ok, but no pinks like yesterday! Momma Bean's own fault.

Today's menu: FF Turkey & Giblets and some Sophisticat Turkey & Giblets. The rest of the hoarde got a mix of Wellness GF Chix and Sophisticat Turkey & Giblets. Was liked by nearly all except Cosette, the dry food addict who at least ate some of it readily before deciding she had better things to do, and Muffin, the k/d kitty. May look into Friskies SD for Muffin since that's what a lot of the CRF beans seem to be feeding. She doesn't have CRF but her tendency to make urate stones means she needs to be on essentially the same diet.

Tested the monitor on DH last night after Augustus the rambunctious kitten nailed his finger while he was untying his shoes. Note to self: claws generate much more blood than lances. DH tested at 106 approx 2.5 hrs after eating. Nice to know that (1) he's not diabetic and (2) meter accurately indicates such.

No work today, so I'm going to go back to bed for a bit. :D Then lots of :coffee:

Went up a bit more than desired today, but at least not as bad as yesterday. I'm seeing a trend esp. now with this meter... relatively low AMPS, then going up up to high yellows in the afternoon, then going back down at night.

I am still testing urine per vet and this afternoon there was almost no color change on the glucose strip. So might that indicate we are approaching the renal threshhold?

Behavior and appetite are normal. Nelson is also gaining a little weight, which is good. Don't want him to gain too much too quickly but he was almost 2 lbs less than normal lean weight at time of dx. Don't feel much new fat padding and can still palpate bones but seems to be building muscle mass. Also MUCH more active the last couple of days than he's been in a while, which again is normal for him. He can't quite keep up with the kittens but he at least tries.

What a wonderful WCR (whole cat report)..

When Pepper started playing again there was shock on all the civies little kitty faces! He hadn't played in so long that they didn't know how to handle it.. lol..

Glad that Lord Nelson is progressing beautifully and hope that you see some blues and greens soon
