DAY 1 @.40Units Lantus (increased dosage to get lower numbers) http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...-351-4-261-5-227-pmps-317-2-342-4-271.209574/
Good morning,Hope Yoyo gives you a good surf.
Good luck with the dosecrease. Bailey will get a little dosecrease tonight as well.
Have you heard of glucose toxicity? I started reading about it because although Bailey has good numbers, she seems stuck hovering around 100 BG. Maybe that is affecting Yoyo? I don't know if it applies to him since he's gone into blue, but maybe something to think about.
Yes it is but he already went up at +5 to 133. I thought he would surf a little before going up, oh well!NICE to see the Green!![]()
I think the overhead magnifier that I use is 3x magnification. I can see the syringe markings well enough, it is just hard for me to say what is .25, .3 and what is .4 units. I understand how to use the calipers, my brother-in law has one, I understand that the amount of insulin will be consistent, but where I get stuck on using the calipers is the zero line marker on the syringe. If that particular syringe goes past the zero line, so will the dosage amount of insulin that has been measured from the caliper. The caliper dosage is constant, but the zero line marker is the culprit and allows more insulin to pass through the needle cap.Green looks good on you Yoyo.
Hope he surfs longer next time.
For measuring doses, maybe if you use a ruler with centimer markings, and just designate which measurements are .25, .3, and .4. you can also give the calipers a try.
I use a kid's microscope that does 5x magnification. works well for me. Found a good one on Amazon that I thought was also helpful.
Have you seen @Bobbie And Bubba's post on @Sue and Luci condo regarding manipulating with food?
If you are using calipers, you ignore the zero line. You measure from where the plunger goes into the syringe. If that particular syringe goes past the zero line, so will the dosage amount of insulin that has been measured from the caliper.
Yes, you ignore the zero mark. The calipers are placed under the hub of the syringe and then whatever dose your calipers are set at are read using the top arm of the caliper.Nice to see that green today. I hope you see more soon.
