Where do I buy syringes with 1/2 unit marks? I have asked a couple local pharmacist and they don't know what I am talking about? If I buy from the internet, do you need to send your insulin prescription. I am using Lantus.

    Thanks.

    Hi Julee
We get ours from the vet themselves at the moment, purely because the insurance is covering it all. We've already made sure we can buy them online for the future.
The type you want is U-40 Insulin syringe, there are half markers on them. I'd say just Google under that phrase, there's plenty of options.

    Best wishes

I thought U-40 measured different than u-100. Is there a conversion???

Sorry, no idea on that. I wasn't aware there were U-100 syringes as well - bit new to this!

All these syringes have half unit markings (very important when you're doing microdosing) and are the correct syringes for U100 insulin and are available from ADW online:
    UtiCare
    Monoject
    Carepoint
    Sure Comfort
    B/D

They're also available at WalMart if you have one near you. Their Relion brand 3/10ml, 30 or 31 gauge, 6mm or 8mm insulin syringes all come with half unit markings and are only $12.58 for a box of 100 (although a lot of them don't realize they DO come with half unit markings!)
