Okay so I shot the whole dose knowing I am out at work and can't test and my reasoning for this is I grabbed a test on the regular meter (Accu-check) which was 160 and also knowing that I am shooting the number he will be at onset not the number he is currently at. Current data shows me his onset it +3 or after so I felt safe to shoot.

Hoping he stays safe when I am gone. He has scarfed down a can and a half of FF so I think he will be fine.

Nice start for Silver. I hope he surfs safely for you today. Are you going to try leaving any extra food out for him?

1) He would scarf it down immediately and then throw it up
2) my overweight civvie would get it
3) I don’t have nor can afford a timed feeder but then still issue of civvie getting it.

We cross posted. Maybe you can feed him a little extra before you leave just to help keep him surfing.
Already left. I feed and shoot then walk out the door at 6:30 A.M. and he would throw it up. The blue accucheck number is safe.

That is good news! Good on ya for shooting green. Soooo, when do you run out of strips on the old meter.:D
I think I have about 10 left. I want to do one more curve with reality numbers. The numbers on accucheck match up to my vet lab results.

Yes but it was green on the new meter! That is what you will see going forward.
Agreed but in the transition period I am looking at trends. I can’t make an informed dosing decision without knowing the trend from last weekend to this weekend on the same meter. I think he may get a dose decrease if I see a green pmps tomorrow. If not then I’ll have to ask. He’s been on this dude two weeks now. Just beginning to touch blues so holding last week was a good plan.

Looks green to me :D

Has making and leaving out ‘catsicles’ (by freezing some food in an ice cube tray) been suggested as a strategy for times like these?

This is awesome to hear :) Is this weekend a curve weekend? If so maybe you'll see some more greens mid cycle :)

Is it possible to isolate your civvie on a day like today? Then leave a catsickle out for Silver? It would take some time for the frozen food to soften enough for Silver to scarf.

No, sorry. Isolation not possible. Explained in earlier condos. I live in a one bedroom basement apartment. The bathroom not big enough and they would tear the place apart if separated. I knew he was perfectly safe anyways as the Freestyle Lite measures on the low side and this is in fact a blue on the regular, more accurate meter.

Now he is 223 - yellow - but again, nothing has really changed as this is typical of a blue and a bounce into pink that he does often. He sees blue and runs for the hills. I wish I had not changed meter but I was given 100 strips and the FS meter from DCIN and I cannot afford to throw away strips. The ss shows improvement but there is none - just a deception due to much lower readings on different meter.

Well that was a quick exit out of the bounce.

Let’s hope tomorrow is also green. Scared to hope for improvement. Fingers crossed. Hoping his foghorn alarm forgets to go off at 4:30am tomorrow. The boy does not know what a weekend is and seems to intuitively wake me an hour before the alarm clock! I swear he has the loudest miaow of all cats! Grrrr
