I believe that is the lowest # that I have ever given Yoyo his insulin shot. His AMPS have been lower and then his +2 goes way up. Not to sure what that is all about.Good start for Yoyo![]()
Yo was kind of low this morning at AMPS 188. I did not test more last night because his ears are really red and blotchy. Do you think his numbers are dropping during the night? I get up and feed him every night at 3am and he seems fine.Nice numbers last night. I hope Yoyo surfs today instead of bouncing.
I've been using 28 gauge, maybe it is too hard. I thought 30 would be too soft. I'll try 30 gauge. I do put pressure on his ear too stop the bleeding, maybe I have been pressing too hard. His ears are the worse that I have seen them.It looks like Yoyo's nadir is about +4 or +5, but the only way to know for sure if he's going lower later is to test when you get up at 3AM to feed. I use 30 gauge lancets. Do you have any Neosporin with pain relief? I put a tiny dab of this on Furball's ear after each test and a little bit more after the last test of the night to help her ear heal. I also hold a piece of paper towel on her ear for 10 to 20 seconds after each test to get the bleeding to stop. I've found that helps keep bumps from forming.
Forgot to ask you....what brand lancet do you use?It looks like Yoyo's nadir is about +4 or +5, but the only way to know for sure if he's going lower later is to test when you get up at 3AM to feed. I buy the Relions from Wal-Mart. I don't use a lancing device. I freehand poke with the lancet.what brand lancet do you use?
