Well my fears about eating were realized, Gus will not eat anything today. He does not look in pain, been up and about, used the LB, not great but did produce some poop, but I know he is getting weaker.
He threw up again, so because it was just froth, I gave him some pepcid. He's not eating anything so there is no digestion to interfere with.
I have not given any other meds, doesn't look like he needs Bupe, and I will let the Pepcid work to calm his stomach before I put anything else in there. May be the completely wrong course of treatment but I really am out of options here other than to let the choice be his.
Every time he sees me he takes off running if I have anything in my hands and that is no way for him to be. Fear is not good for any relationship.
Anyway, sorry it's not a positive thread..I just can't drum up any other than that he is holding his remission...
Surf safely kitties, make your Beans smile:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Eat your fuds and work that juice but gentLy:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am so sorry Les that Gus still doesn't want to eat . I wish I had a great suggestion for you but, I do not All I can offer is hugs and I hope someone else can weigh in with a suggestion for you I am sure you have tried everything in the pantry to entice . Baby food? :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

:bighug:Well, it's likely the pancreatitis. Sounds like maybe you need to use injections at this point. That's what I do, when TiTI can't eat or hold anything in her tummy.
Very disheartening, I know. But he is holding his remission!
:bighug::bighug::bighug:Hugs:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks all, gave him some Zofran, yep tried everything I have and that's everything they sell..
I don't know how many times we can do this stop start stop eating dance, each time his start from point is weaker than the time before..
He still feels well enough to snarl territorially at Civvie Jett, that's a positive of sorts..

Injections of what Kathy? So I know what to ask for...
Thank you,:bighug::bighug:
The weird thing is he is all snotty again too..and the stopping eating normally is linked right in line with that.

What's with all this congestion - Murphy has it too
could it be that he isn't eating because he can't smell his food? Can you warm it up a bit or give him something really smelly like sardines or something?

Very tough situation. But snarling is an excellent sign.

I've tried, I think that because he threw up with the Zofran tablet situation he won't eat anything no matter how stinky or otherwise...I will give a B12 shot in a bit, gave him some cypro and he got Zofran earlier..I am truly out of tools at this point...

You can get injectabke cerenia or try anzemet as both are given subq. Cerenia stings more. They work in different ways just like zofran and cerenia.

Have you been giving both cerenia and zofran every day? If so it might be time for an ultrasound. He should not need to be sedated and it needs to be done by a board certified radiologist.

I'm so sorry he is feeling so rotten. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Trix has had on again/off again snuffles for a bit, too. Have you talked to your vetty about it? Congestion certainly can make eating hard. I know some people here do use Zyrtec - I've never used it and I wouldn't use it without talking to your vet, but maybe that would help, too.

Piling on more hugs and prayers...

Convenia, B12, and bupe can be injected. I was thinking that since his appy is off, getting injections of everything might save his digestive system. Also, I find it easier to trick TiTI into injections, rather then stuffing anything at all down her throat.

Also I am wondering if Gus is strong enough to get a feeding tube? Dunno if that is even appropriate, but I am pretty much racking my brain here.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, have printed them all out to sort..
I don't know what gives in this cat but it has to be the LL vines
All of a sudden he was up and looking for food when I was reclaiming the kitchen from the clutter fairies..of course that meant I dropped everything and immediately started getting him set up.

I put down some turkey, no go, added some rabbit, nope. Then cracked a can of FF chicken and he ate some, then went over and actually ate a decent portion of the raw rabbit /turkey mix! I stood motionless and barely breathed as I did not want to do anything to distract him and cause him to change his mind..

He kept coming back to it throughout the evening and is now eating more. I think, fingers crossed, he might just have eaten his quota a little bit at a time by the time the night is over..I sat down and cried for a bit but not where he could see..

I have not been giving the cerenia+Zofran because he developed front leg tremors once he had cerenia for more than three days in a row. He did it both with the mirt and when I gave it alone. So I've stuck with the Zofran as I don't see the tremors with that.

I contemplated the Zyrtec, it did work as an appy stimulant for him before, but went with the same combo he's been getting, albeit spaced out more., mostly because I didn't know if you could give the Zyrtec with the Zofran and Bupe..
His meds are
Zofran, Cypro and a small dose of topical Bupe. This morning Famtodine or Pepcid was added first since he was not eating anything and consequently not digesting anything. I remembered that several folks vets had given famtodine injections so figured maybe it would help.

Personally I'm not sure he could do a feeding tube either, so I keep trying to avoid anything like that if at all possible...

:bighug::bighug:Thank you for the powerful LL vines, they do find him it appears:bighug::bighug:

They are on clavamox for the sneezing and Chai's wheezing/congestion but otherwise very active and have to be watched constantly if I let them out of the bathroom. Mocha is eating a lot and gaining weight. Chai hasn't gained anything. I didn't expect to be giving meds this soon. That was why I passed on Bear who will have a new home this week too.

Aw nuts on having to deal with meds..I know that was the very last road you were ready to head down again:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Hoping it clears quickly and they flourish under your care:bighug::bighug:
Maybe once they are properly cared ( by you) for these things will be long forgotten episodes..my hope for you :bighug:
