Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

Where did all that lovely green go??? Cinco, don't make me use the "d" word!

A fairly quiet day, overall Cinco had another of those cycles where he was lower at PMPS than any other time during the day, but was overall flat. No out of box incidents, although I think I averted one when I saw him wandering into the laundry room, then out and towards the bar. I gave him a quick trip to the lb. I guess I should let him find it on his own, but after he's been wandering a while I am so afraid he's not going to get there in time! The vet suggested diapers, but I just can't do that to him! Now, if he should start going on the furniture, I may change my mind!

Speaking of the vet, she called today to tell me that, as expected, the culture came back negative. So no medical reason that we can see for the peeing misadventures. She was inclined to agree with me about his just not getting to the box in time. So we'll just avert it when we can and live with it when we can't.

Minka's appy is still subpar. She did eat a few bites of breakfast, then threw it up about 30 minutes later. :( Interestingly, her meds did not come up, even though I had just given them to her a few minutes before. I gave her more tummy meds and she ate about 1/4 of a jar of baby food with fluids, but I wasn't satisfied with that and syringed about 10-11 cc of NF before she wanted me to stop. She later finished the jar of baby food. She has been working on her dinner for the past two hours and has it almost gone. :) Paws crossed this flare is subsiding (anti-jinx). I haven't felt like she needed any Bupe today.

Sasha is still "meh" on breakfast, but eating later in the day. I just tried a little experiment with her. It just kills me that she spends so much time upstairs alone when she clearly wants to be with me. She won't hang down here because of Harvey. I brought her down and put her in the stroller, which I parked in the kitchen next to me as I unloaded the dishwasher and washed dishes. I talked to her the whole time and stopped every now and then to give scritches and belly rubs. She seemed to enjoy it for about 15 minutes, then started to get antsy, so I took her back upstairs. I'm going to keep doing it as long as she seems to like it. I'm just so conscious of how little time I may have left with my babies and don't want to regret later that I didn't spend more of it with them.

Harvey is eating well, still. I will call UCD first thing in the morning and report the results of the urine test. I presume they will tell me to start insulin. :( I hope they aren't going to try to get me to come in and have a curve or something done. Based on his most recent weight (8lb 5 oz/3.628kg), I plan to tell them I'll start him on 1 unit. We'll see how they feel about my taking charge! Assuming they say, "yes, start insulin", we'll attempt the first shot Tuesday morning. Gulp. :nailbiting:o_O

Time to get the leftovers heating and make the salad. Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday evening.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Marilyn & Polly, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & Neko & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug:Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

I think Cinco's just being a loyal and faithful friend to his best girl China and staying close by to comfort her while she's sick....Cinco...China appreciates your gesture, but she wants you to be healthy, so go ahead and go for a swim, OK? You can keep your ears on her from the shallow water!

Sorry to hear the news on Harvey...just what you need..another disease to add to the mix...of course he couldn't have a better mamabean than you either! If he does end up on insulin, hopefully it'll be a quick trip to remission for him!

I'm sure Sasha loves the extra attention..hopefully she'll get more used to being downstairs as she spends more time there!

Minka...eat yur foods honey....mamabean really has enough to do without having to spend so much time feeding just you...of course maybe that's your plan?? Getting all the mama-time you can get!

Sorry to read the news about Harvey. I'm hoping no dry food and low carb will get him diet controlled.

If it were me I would round down for Harvey rather than up and start him on .75 since we have no experience with Harvey and insulin but as aggressive as I can be about increases I do tend to be a conservative starter :nailbiting:

Another thought for Minka - when Vyktor hasn't eaten on home delivery once or twice I've had a pretty good success rate getting him started by himself by rolling up one little bit of food into a ball and 'forcing' that into him. I try and make sure he swallows it but sometimes he spits it out but then still starts eating from the held bowl. I have no idea what it's all about but it works quite a bit.

You'll have to get a pic of Sasha in the stroller for us - it sounds so adorable.

Cinco - swim!

You've got so much going on right now. I don't blame you for wanting to spend as much time as you can with your furbabies. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks for visiting us, Chris, Elise, Serryn and Carla.

I fell asleep at my desk sometime around +6, so didn't get another test until +8.25  Not sure where he might have gone in between. He's not telling.

Minka ate almost half a jar of baby food with her fluids, but no more cat food.

Thanks, @Vyktors Mum on the dose suggestion. I'll post for advice before I settle on a dose, so your input is appreciated and duly noted.

I can't keep my eyes open, so I'm off to bed.

I hope Minka's appy continues to improve. It sounds like syringe-feeding her is very much like syringe-feeding Trix...no big fight, kind of leaning in to it. These kitties can be helpful when they want to!

Bummer about Harvey's tests. I hope he gets regulated quickly and easily...and maybe even decides he doesn't like or need insulin after all!!

I've become the same way about spending as much time with the kitties as possible, too....

I'm a day behind, I just posted in yesterday's condo!

Poor Cinco, Tess had gotten like that too. What about another box in the laundry room? I found some trays for pee pads on Amazon that she was willing to use, no chance of spillage.

I know on wanting to be with them as much as possible. I love the thought of Sasha in her stroller!

Sorry to hear the dx on Harvey, as if you didn't have enough to cope with :bighug: At least you had some good news that Cinco's culture test was negative. Vines for all your furbabies.
