Interesting numbers we have here. I guess, will need to skip again.

    Ruta,

He is telling you that 3u is too much insulin.

Skip tonight but regardless of the number tomorrow only shoot 2.5u.

With him clearing an infection right now any reading under 90 earns him a .25 u in a dose reduction.

    Melody,

As far as I understand, too much insulin means too low nadirs and / or too high numbers because of bouncing. Lantus is effective for about 12 hours (approximately), isn't it? In Cupcake's case I see low numbers getting lower even after +12 (at +14, for example). But on the other hand, these numbers are never as low as I want them to be. I mean his nadirs are not low enough.
Do you think I should try 2.75 BID?

No Lantus is a depot insulin. Which means it builds up under the skin. Because of the build up it can last 16 hours or longer. A Lantus curve should be the lowest point at about +6ish So his high numbers should be on either end of those 12 hour periods. If he is going straight down its too much insulin. You want a smile looking curve.
