Last week's post

Ivana's pancreas must have been working a littler harder than usual yesterday, because her BG was slightly lower than it has been. Not that that's a concern! She's clearly feeling quite settled at The Falls, and good on her :D

This morning was Ivana's first dose of Amlodipine for her high blood pressure. We had it compounded into a gel that goes into her ear (the skin part not the furry part) and gets absorbed through her skin. When Ivana was on the juice her AMPS test was done in our bed, as she jumped up when she heard our alarm and would know to wait for her test before we'd get up to give her breakfast. We've decided to make that a routine again, and this morning we waited til she jumped up on the bed and then (with treats within sniffing range) hubby loosely held her while I folded her ear back and simultaneously squirted 0.1 units (mL, I think) into her ear. She wasn't too keen on having her ear folded back, but to our surprise once it was in there it was forgotten - no head shaking, no pawing at her ear, nothing. So much easier than a tablet every day! I will need to make a vet appointment for her for about a week for a retest of her blood pressure to measure the effect of the Amlodipine, fingers crossed it helps.

Here is the usual weekly pic of my love, aka Queen of the Top Of The Lounge:

And because you're all Crazy Cat People, here's a pic of the pub kitten we met when we went out last night, his name is Jerry:

Ivana's looking great!!...especially love her crown!!!

Hope the new medication helps bring her BP under better control.....will also hope that she continues to be a good kitty and tolerate the squirt in her ear!!

Jerry's such a cutie-pie....I've always been a sucker for the orange ones though

So glad Miss Ivana is doing so well and love the pics especially of her being invisible ;) If meds can be given any other way than pilling I'd go that route too! Always happy to see an update Tara. Extra scritches for your girl.
