Good morning,

Yesterday was hell on earth here, total mess. Right from the start, numbers were in the red...
If not already bad, Small Kitty moved while the needle was in and bented. It was empty
but who knows where  Then what I call ''Food complain'' started. So strong that
I had to give both kitties haft can of lc.. This was not enough... Right under my eyes
saw Small Kitty in the release position, witch he did, right on a new carpet. Was only
3$ but still... Even at night it kept going wrong.

One days my father told me he could bring Small Kitty to the junk so I wouldn’t see
the last moments.. This came back to my mind yesterday...

Will see what the vet has to say this afternoon, the ride will be with Ubert (clandestine
carbs). With surrealist GL she might say she's not touching that because of the risk
(for the dental in 2 weeks).

Sorry to be crude, but this thing really SUCKS !

Hope there will be some turn of event cause this is really not fun, bad
company.

Good day.

Yesterday

:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: I am sorry you had a difficult day yesterday. Those numbers alone would put anyone in a bad mood. Come on Small Kitty, you know how to work the juice!!

Good luck at the consultation today. I don't know which blood work tests you should have done. Because Osha is a senior kitty I did the full senior panel and added the heart panel before her dental.

Sebastian I am so sorry for your bad times right now :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

I also had a fur shot with my Tuxie the other day and saw lots of high reds and blacks. Last night he hit the lower greens and then back to black this morning, Those are just a few numbers though...they are not a daily happening. SK had a nice PMPS the other night, which just on its own could have caused a bounce to start. Add on a furshot and it is not unusual to see those higher numbers. I KNOW how depressing it is to see the blacks again, but this will pass my friend...just keep on with what you are doing.

As far as the BW goes I don't know if you can really pick and choose what you want. Usually they will do a geriatric profile, which runs (here) around $200 if you include the T4 thyroid test. If you can swing it that is the way to go, since the main cost is for the blood draw and the use of the analyser so you may as well have it all done to rule out any other problems and not have to have more tests done later. You can do your own urinalysis at home with the Chemsticks you have. That is the same way they test at the vets. I do that so it saves me about $65.

Please don't despair Sebastian. You are doing all the right things for your boys. I am just sorry that the financial end is so difficult for you. But once you have the BW and dentals done you will know that these things are not problems anymore.

I hope the visit goes well :bighug::bighug:

Yeah, I know things can mess up with low number PLUS a possible fur shot.
What was the most irritating was the food madness. This never happens or never
as strong. Small Kitty was really jumping everywhere seeking for food right after
being fed. The on carpet release is also unusual. I think Small Kitty must have
feel the mood. After breakfast I sleep 30 min on the couch and he jump on me
relaxing and purring.

Thanks for urine test, I have the results on my Iphone (picture of chemsticks.
Can this detect UTI ?

Because the clinic is out of nowhere and they don't have 20 vets and 50 tech and
no high class building they can afford charging less. They have lab on site so BW
and others should not be that bad.

That is exactly what I use it for, as well as having levels for the PH SG Protein and of course glucose and ketones. If you see blood of any sort showing in that panel there is a chance of a UTI. With Tuxie I caught blood on the chemstick and took him in for the BW which also showed an infection. He was not showing the usual signs with straining to pee or discomfort, but once he had the AB the blood in the urine disappeared. Of course if you want a culture and sensitivity test you would have to take a sample of fresh urine to the vet or have it drawn by them.

When Tuxie's numbers are high he gets very ravenous...the same way as when he is very low. From what I remember with SK he had pee accidents before when his sugar levels were very high. But do check the urine for any sign of blood which could indicate a UTI

Sebastien, sending you lots and lots of hugs and it is understandable why you felt so defeated. But, it is just one cycle and things can quickly change for the better. And with the teeth issues, and if pain is involved, you will see his BG spike.

Good luck with the vet and the test and keep us posted.

Things will get better. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Happy to say that you're right Bobbie, we're made progress today.

Oufff, what a day...

I think last night was really fur shot cause Small Kitty went drastically down today.

Visit to the clinic on the south shore (outside Montreal) went very well. Those complaining
on the internet were just too fancy, the place is basic and functional as waiting
room and reception are concerned but exam room was up to the task. But the most important
criteria has been met. My new vet, Dr. Roch is competent and did not tried to make me feel
unconformable when I shared ''our'' decision making on dose and shot or NS. She was
actually hell impressed on the organisation level. When she asked if I tried diabetic specific
food I was able to scroll up in the SS (had brought my laptop), and show her what purina
MD and hills food had made. She blinked eyes and made one step back eyebrows up..
''I'm impress she said, never, never in more then 20 years seen something like that''.
Under her eyes was almost one year of GL results. Once she understood the NS, doses
and all our system she said that decision making and result was mint, that the bounces
are just what they are, bounces, that there is nothing you can do about it but play with
doses.. and she agreed with all change. That urine test were done made her mouth dropped,
''my god, is there something you didn't tough about ?'', she said (not that way).
Was pretty proud of us, we're hell good ! :)

Teeth are not in bad state she said, tartar got under but nothing is loose and removal of tartar
then antibiotic will fix this up. No extraction so far, unless there is cracks or something
like that discovered during the tartar removal process.

BW will be processed and on her ''desk'' tomorrow, this is where decision will be made
as if dental can be done or not. She was concern about the state of the liver and if it
will wake up after anaesthesia, or something like that. Physical test proved that everything
is fine, organs are the way they should and weight is perfect.

*This Doc is very very human, lovely. She's a VetSulin veterinarian and could have turned
me back straight off but she didn't. ''I'll get into the Lantus business and be up to the task
but I'm not sure you need help on this'' she said ;).

Total spending: 120$ (consultation and full pre-surgical BW).
.
Little break needed now, beer is not very far.

Something funny :
Small Kitty has never seen the front staircase to come here, or very rarely. When I
unlock the pet carrying sport bag he jumped right off and started scratching the door
up on his rear legs to get in :)

(Seen the +9 ? That was at the clinic with full of other cats and dogs around o_Oo_Oo_O:confused::confused::confused:)
When he started breathing like mad I tested him right away, happy he was safe...
