Gotta put those patients pants on.
Ok. I hear ya!;)

I am not doing harm with this up/down on the dosage am I? I am hoping that through the end of the year I can get a solid reduction but I may need to continue doing this when I am back to work after the 1st. I still am not sure how his little body is "healing" and I don't want to do more harm than good.

What is actually happening? Is he starting to make his own insulin (I think it is actually hormones - correct)? Is it the liver or pancreases or both?

I have asked before but didn't get an answer - is there a correlation between diabetes and pancreatitis? It sure seems a lot here have pancreatitis along with the diabetes.

By treating him with insulin you are helping him. If you ever looked at others SS's whether they went into remission or not there is a lot of up and down in dose....it's part of the dance. Yes, keeping him in as much green as possible gives you a better chance for remission. However keeping your kitty safe is most important.

He's responding the to insulin and by spending more times in normal numbers his body does start to heal and they typically stop bouncing.....as much. Green are the healing numbers but as long as he's mostly under the renal threshold (which varies by kitty) no further harm is being done from what I understand.

I can only tell you "yes and no" but didn't want to ignore your question. Maybe put a ? mark up and ask that specific question. There is also a primer Pancreatitis & Concurrent Conditions in the Where Can I Find link that may answer some of your questions. I have not read this one as it's one thing Doodles hasn't suffered from.
