Hello L & L!
Well the lets try only the inhalers failed. Fritz was having multiple attacks just trying to move around:(
So I have no choice but to put him on pred.:banghead::arghh:

Advice on dosing? Since I saw 161 at amps I'll monitor today and see where his numbers go and might have to bump him to 9 units to help keep the numbers stable.

Taking DH to the airport this AM.

So time for Fritz and I to hit the strip HaHa.....

Think I'll do a little shopping for myself and try and catch a movie if only I could make it through a whole movie without falling asleep:p:rolleyes:

FD kitties surf safe today:cat:

I'd give him a cycle or two and see what his numbers do before increasing. Those yellows last night could've been a delayed bounce but probably from the pred? Does it make sense to just keep him on the pred and try to regulate him?

That's cute...made me chuckle.

Hope you have a good shopping day. Loads of easy breathing vines and prayers for Fritz.

Sending breathe better vines to Fritz.

Good luck with the shopping. There is no way I would be able to stay awake for a movie either. It would just be an expensive nap.

Karen at this point in time I'm afraid to say nothing makes sense. For years I was able to manage his asthma with Flovent and rescue with only an about twice a year the oral pred.
I'm excited but not holding my breath for his holistic apt. tomorrow afternoon. I still think that the chamber nebulizer once a day would really help. I'm not a professional but just have this feeling it's time to try since the asthma is chronic. Weird thing is that when he was at his last apt. with the cardiologist and the IT doc she mentioned that it looked like from the xrays not much has changed. Don't get me wrong I was thrilled to hear that but that doesn't reflect how he feels. To answer your question which I appreciate in regards to keeping him on pred. that might be a possibility. In the past I have only had to do short term high dose (5ml) and then taper him off.
If it means keeping him on pred and having to give more insulin to keep him regulated I will do that. I also want to explore a couple other meds for asthma to see if it would work and have less side effects.
Well off and running for the day!

It all makes a lot of sense Deb. So glad the holistic appointment is tomorrow and paws crossed she can give an alternative. I don't know anything about asthma or the long term use of pred.

I'm sorry Fritz needs the pred to control his asthma, but you've got to do what you need to do for him. I'd wait on adjusting the dose too. Enjoy shopping and a movie if you try to see one.
