Freckles continues to stay primarily yellow despite increase to 3.25 u yesterday but I noticed this morning that she is frequently swallowing. It's almost similar to what a human does when they have a sore throat. Freckles had similar symptoms when she got diagnosed with diabetes at the end of September 2019. Her blood work showed elevated WBC at that time and she was put on antibiotics for 10 days. Back in September the swallowing effort was more noticeable as her head would jut forward when she swallowed, but that vet wasn't able to tell me what was going on. After the antibiotics, the swallowing returned to normal.
I'm wondering if she has an infection again and if so what is causing it? If she does have an infection, I'm thinking this could be contributing to the 'insulin resistance' that we are seeing? If she does have an infection and goes on antibiotics I'm thinking her reaction to the insulin may change once the infection clears up, but I don't really know what to expect or proceed.
I have an appointment with the vet for tomorrow (Friday Dec. 6).
Anyone else experience their kitty with similar symptoms?
Thanks in advance!
