2/18 Buzzy AMPS 208 = 1U; PMPS 152 = 1U; +2 182; negative urine culture but still want to treat

I hope Buzzy slides down and surfs safely today. Your insulin should be okay. It's not as easy to damage as we used to think. If you start getting really wonky numbers than it may have been damaged. Only time will tell.

Thanks! Fingers crossed.
Not home today to test, but I left some LC catsicles out for them & I've a timed feeder arriving today (only 1 though, so they'll have to figure out the pecking order...)

Question about the auto feeder with the compartments that rotates.
Do y'all use the ice pack if you are also freezing the cat food? Or will that prevent the cat food from thawing?

Got answers to my question on FB :)

Recognizing this is a crappy data collection day, I am still going to bed. I didn't sleep last night, and I feel like death. His numbers are high enough that I feel OK going to sleep. Plan is to hang back for a +1 tomorrow AM.

I've a feeling we'll need to do a legit curve on Friday before we decide about increasing dose since I have so few days of actually seeing a nadir. But, ya know...life.

The vet just called and left a message that the urine culture didn’t grow anything but she still wants to treat again for a UTI.
I’m frustrated. That was a $200 test that told us nothing. now I’m supposed to cram antibiotics in him again and retest him again afterwards for more money?

frustrated!

and I bet you it’s the injectable antibiotic they gave him that I just read about that’s probably still in his system and maybe that’s why the culture didn’t grow but I don’t know all I know is that was a waste of my money and I’m pissed.

he hates oral medication I hate giving him oral medication I’m already stressed enough having to test him 1 billion times a day. Grrrrrrrr

If you suspect there is a UTI, you can buy some d-manosse and mix it in his food. It is a supplement that binds to bacteria and removes it from the body. I've used it for Furball before. You can buy it as a loose powder and give 1/4 of a teaspoon twice a day.
