Doodles 2/1 Please in the name of kitty land come down to at least some blues today Doodles. All 5 P's are good but the playing has slowed down a bit in these higher numbers :( Hopefully we'll see some progress today.

I really enjoyed baking yesterday. 10 yrs ago I had an online baking company called Obedient Belly and taught myself how to make Gluten Free cakes, cookies, bread etc. before anyone here in the US heard of GF. Too bad I didn't stick with it considering the huge market there is now.

Hope all the kitties are doing well today and surf safely.

Fingers crossed for a nice slide into the blues. You're almost there, Doodles, we know that you can do it. Remember how much fun it is to harass your little sister when you're feeling great? ;)

How about GF for cats? Could be a bunch out here
Doodles regular vet who does the acupuncture see's more cases where the owner and the pet have similar health conditions. When I discussed his IBD and not wanting to put him on the drugs she indicated it is similar to celiac disease in humans. The GF market is so saturated now think I'll just keep the baking for myself. Although GF options have come a long way in regard to taste in the stores honestly mine is simply better :) Even my picky Italian husband loves it.

I'm pulling out some good ol blues cd's today

Think I'm over feeding Doodles. I spoke with Stella & Chewy's today and they said there is about 200 calories in a cup of the dehydrated food. He really seems to dig it and was able to add some water to the food during lunch today which is good. They said with water the carb count is under 1% and as fed dry is about 2% carbs. Instead of trying to feed him 2-2.5 oz of wet and a little S&C I'm going to try and reverse....more S&C, and about 1-1.5 oz of wet at each meal. Ok, that is my looong though of the day:)

I honestly cannot believe he is running this high again after a month & 1/2 of good numbers. I put him up on my bed to sleep as he just looks miserable :(

I know what you're feeling! I've been there....it's so frustrating.....no matter what you do it doesn't seem to have the desired effect. But this is only day 2 of the increase and the depot has to fill. By tomorrow you will hopefully see a downward trend.
Some other things to ponder.....any chance he has a UTI? How old is the insulin you're using?

New insulin vile on 12/25...it smells like Lantus  What would be the signs of a UTI? He's never had one that I know of...been peeing twice a day, seems like a normal amount.
Sometimes the cat will pee outside of the box but often I find there are no symptoms. Means you have to spend $$s at the vet for urine test

I would wait another day or two....the depot has to fill and he might have some NDW going on as well. Hopefully he will come down within the next 24 hours.

You raise a good question Karen....does Lantus that has lost it's potency still smell like lantus? Because it absolutely does have a very strong smell normally.

Sorry to hear Doodles isn't feeling himself, sending feel better vines. I hope you start seeing better numbers soon,:bighug::bighug::bighug:

It's about 1 week old so unless Walgreens sold me a "bad" vile it's practically brand new :) Pretty sure he'll need to go up more but have to wait these 6 cycles out.

Hi Karen… Sorry your having a difficult day :(
Signs of UTI are usually going in litter box frequently and often looks like they are peeing but only a drop or 2 comes out--then back in box… sometimes they stay close to the box and as mentioned sometimes outside the box. Licking themselves excessively down "there"--cant seem to get comfortable.
Drinking more…some just seem like they don't know what to do with themselves/anxiety.
I also keep Dres bikini wax pretty tight so litter doesn't stick to him….that can be a issue as well….:bighug::bighug:

Don't they have test strips for UTI now in the stores for humans????? Maybe it's worth looking into and might a least give an indication one is present.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I'll give it a few more days and if we don't see some improvement he'll be off to the vet. So far I haven't see any of the above in him. About an hour or so ago he "appeared" and has been social so we'll see, maybe his PMPS will be decent.

Really hard to say what's going on. This darned dance keeps changing it's tune without warning. So I'll just hope the melody calms down and Doodle comes on down a bit on the scale.
