He's climbed up a little bit. I've given him some sub-q fluids. Last night he did test at "trace" ketones :( I think the sub-q fluids are helping to keep them away until we can get his dental done.

My question (as I've got 20 minutes before I have to leave for work, hopefully someone will see this!) I'm wondering if I should leave him some HC food for the day? Or just his extra tin of LC ff that he normally gets? I'm not able to come home during the day, and I'll be gone for at least 9 hours.

Thoughts?

thanks!

Can somebody explain how on EARTH this guy can shoot from greens to pink in 12 hours?? I did NOT leave any HC food, just LC.

What is going on?? Can all of this be related to his dental concerns? On the plus side, I DID manage to beg/borrow/plead my way into an earlier dental appt. Rather than March 25th, we're now March 3rd, which is wonderful.

Jonesy's spirit is good, he's scarfing down his dinner right now and I'll shoot in about 10 minutes or so (been backing up shoot time)

I never got the owner's manual with this sugar cat ;) I demand a refund! LOL (But, I'll keep the cat)

That's a typical bounce...

His good little liver saw those low numbers this morning and said "WHOA!!! What the heck is going on??? I'm going to save the day and unload every bit of stored up glycogen that I've got tucked away for an emergency like this!!! And that's exactly what it's doing. All that stored up sugar for emergencies is now rushing thru his bloodstream...and it'll pass with time...just be calm and carry on. Let his liver do it's thang tonight...and hopefully he'll come back down from that big bounce soon. Looks like he did the same thing the other night...it's the old up and down of diabetes in the early days...

After a while..not sure how long a while...those numbers will level off...bounces won't be as high...Luci used to be quite the trampoline champ...go low, then bounce to the moon...and back...reminded me of a cartoon character slamming their opponent up, down, up, down...as I felt like the opponent.

Just be patient and keep doing what you're doing. He'll come back down...just takes time.

Have a good evening and enjoy Jonesy's good spirits!

I'm laughing at the mental image of the cartoon character . . . I can absolutely see that! LOL

Thanks Sue!
