Summer showed alot of yellow yesterday but now back in the blues. Maybe she will get back to greens soon. She is eating good and eating well. Since her dx she has not been cleaning herself. Have to find something to wipe her down with that is safe for her but will get the pee smell off. Any suggestions on that?

Good to see those blues back. After the part dose and the bounce, it might take a couple cycles yet to see how this dose can do.

Sorry Summer isn't cleaning her self. The only times I had to do a clean job, I just used gentle soap and water. If Summer is a long hair cat, would a sani cut at the back help?

Summer is long haired. Do you mean shaving her fur around her bottom area? She may not go for that!

I ended up doing that for my fat civvie Libby. It was very odd to see a cat with long hair everywhere with a bare landing strip of the back end....DH laughed every time he saw her.

Went to the lion cuts after that and put her on a weight loss program. She has been able to keep her self clean now that she is her model weight.

Can i ask what you did for your cat to lose weight? Summer is big. She is starting to waddle like a duck when she walks! I have her on a raw diet and feed her several times a day.

How many ounces of raw do you feed? And how many calories? Neko got about 4 oz a day divided into multiple meals. I weighed her regularly to see she maintained the weight I wanted.and changed quantities if she didn't. Some proteins are higher calorie than others.

Summer has been getting maybe around 5-6 oz divided into several meals. Not sure on the calories. She is eating a homemade raw chicken diet. Catnutrition.org is basically my recipe i go by.

Chicken thighs are higher calorie than chicken breast, depending on which you are using. I used a mix. Maybe see if you can gradually lower the amount to 4-5 oz.

Reduced calories...for sure. Started feeding to her ideal weight.

Got the feeders so she couldn't get into everyone's food for another thing. She was a great bowl cleaner - regardless if the other kitties were done or not.

I feed her leg quarters that i grind up. Leg and thigh. I have started weighing out her food again. one tablespoon is 1 oz on my little kitchen scale. I figured i would give her 1 oz at shot times and 1/2 oz at other times. What do you think? Is a tablespoon enough at feeding and shot time? Sorry i didn't answer sooner. I was up all night with summer again.

I think that plan will work. I fed about one oz at shot times (half Neko's cycle allotment) and the rest of 1 oz for that cycle spread throughout her mini meals.
