It's a not-so-quiet day here in TrixieLand today. Trix had a great start - was waiting outside the bedroom door this morning (mainly because she wanted to dart in!), happy appy, lovely AMBG (by her standards), super sweet snuggles :cat:.

But then it came time for the gelcap. Oh, how I hate the gelcap sometimes. Today was one of THOSE mornings...hissing, growling swatting, repacks, breaks, cursing (from both of us) right from the get-go. I thought I finally had it down after trying for 35 minutes, gave her the little syringe of water, she walks away...and the stupid thing was in the bed under her. ARGH :banghead::banghead::banghead:! Somehow, unbelievably, I managed to get it down on the very next attempt. Since I gave it to her almost an hour early last night because of the vetty visit, this ended up being WAY later than I wanted today. But, at least it's down...so stressful, but down.

Hopefully she'll be over the tension by tonight.

On top of that, Zen was incredibly restless last night - kept asking to go in and out of the bedroom, and any time he was out, he was going after Frankie, so I couldn't just let him out on his own. I think he was in that mood because Trixie ran into the bedroom as DH came in for the night. Zen was already in there, and as we know, the bedroom belongs to him during the night. She was only in there for a minute - we thought we'd just give it a minute to see what Zen's thoughts were. He really did react the way I expected - I think he was acting out last night because he wasn't happy about her being in there during "his" time. This further confirms that I currently don't have the emotional stamina to go through the desensitizing process with him, not to mention I can't afford to have sleepless nights like that on a regular basis.

All was fine with her vetty visit last night, although we won't have too much info until the BW and culture results come back. Her BP was great at 120, and her weight is stable at 9.8lbs. I should have the BW tomorrow, and of course the culture won't be back until next week.

I'm a little edgy, just because we've been hit with so many unexpected test results, and also because it seems like a lot of the times when she comes down with something, it happens a few days after blood and/or urine draws :nailbiting::nailbiting:. I'll try not to helicopter, though :stop:!

Time to get moving...work today, but, I'm off again tomorrow....

Have a great day, L&LL!

Uhm, Amy. Don't think it's gunna work!;)

Sorry for the hectic night and gel-cap struggle this morning. But, every now and then those cats just have to remind us who really runs things in the house. Hope they've made their point and give the beans a break.

Have a good one.

Marilyn and Polly

Yeah, I know Marilyn....who am I kidding ??? I am at work, though, so I'm forced to not helicopter...not happy about it, though - I'd like to know how she's doing right now !!!

@Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) - It looks like we're lucking out here in Central NJ and the snow doesn't seem to be making it quite this far. A big "phew" from me on that one! Wish I loved the stuff....it just doesn't love me, so I return the sentiment :joyful:!

You are a worrier. That is one of your charming qualities. :) The kitties wouldn't know what to do if you didn't helicopter. Hopefully you get the results back soon so you can relax a little. Have a great day Amy!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yes, DH luvs my worryIng skills, too :joyful:!! I don't think he realized what he signed up for when he married me :woot::woot::woot:!!

Hehehe Don't feel bad, Amy. I also worry. Probably more than you know. LOL Sending you tons of excellent news vines with regards to the tests, and also peace vines for your household. It sounds like the rest of your animals are sensing your stress, and are acting out. Hang in there. :bighug:

I'll bet your DH is like mine - he knows that you only worry because you care so much, and he loves that about you!

Sorry for the gelcap fiasco and Zen's possessive fit. I know it doesn't help when you're already stressed. Sending lots of calming vines, for you and the kitties!

BTW, LOVE the AMBG! Much nicer than some she's had lately! :) And as alway, happy to see Ms. P doing her thing. :D

Meg is starting to act up with Purrdy being in her space too - last night she moved her tray out of the way and peed on the floor  I guess there's only so many ways she can express her displeasure...

Bad luck on the gel cap this morning hopefully that's like the high before the fall and you'll head into a good run with them now - fingers crossed :)
