I doubt if the AMPS was due to the gravy as much as it was a "bounce" off the 57 yesterday. It's probably been a long time since Queenie's BG was that low, so her body isn't used to those more "normal" numbers anymore and her liver responded by releasing stored sugars and hormones to get her back up to where it's been used to living....Unfortunately, it's not very precise, so ZOOM!! Up she went!!

The good news is it looks like she's clearing that bounce pretty nicely today...BUT by dropping that much so quickly, she may bounce again

Well I'm happy to be coming into three straight days I will be home all day. I have a dr appt on Tuesday and will be gone a good bit of the day. I'm moving her earlier in the day. I can give her her AM shot on Tuesday at 9:30 and still make it to my appointment. I won't be home for the +2 either.....I have to move her shot a little more than 1.5 hours forward. I've seen that it's safe to move in 15 minute increments. A crusty old vet tech I trust a lot told me 30 minutes was OK too. I'm not stretching I'm shortening. Any advice?

We suggest 15 minutes per cycle, or one 30 minute change per day

Some cats are very sensitive to small changes, so 15 minutes is as much as we want to do...others can do fine on the 30 minute changes. If you have 3 days to adjust, you'll be OK doing either one

Any early shot can act like an increase though, so you'll just need to watch and see how she does

I'd be sure to get that +2 because although the PMPS is a climbing number, it's pretty normal for it to be!

A "normal" Lantus cycle starts out at a higher number, gradually goes down (somewhere mid-cycle) and then starts to climb again...then it's time for the next shot.

Queenie is still very new and you have limited data on her, but if I remember right, she's only about 5 lbs and 2 units is a very high dose for such a tiny kitty
