Well if there was any doubt as to whether Max can hear anything there isn't any more. They are doing the annual fire testing and the noise is deafening. He didn't flinch. :(
 
Ahhh. Well, take heart knowing it probably bothers you a lot more than it bothers him. I'm glad to see he is coming back down after a little bit of a high food spike for him today. It's okay, Max, you don't need to hear anything to swim in the lagoon. There are plenty of kitties there to be your ears!
 
SO close to the lagoon, Max....go ahead now....stick that big toe in ...and then the whole foot, the ankle and then the knee!!

Cats are strange beasts when it comes to sounds...I've seen China totally ignore tornado sirens, shotgun blasts and even the alarm they have at the jail directly behind my house that could wake the dead.....but if there's a tiny little squeak from a mouse (or in our case, a mouse toy) she's after it!

That may be but if I clap or talk to hm from behind he doesn't respond. I have to be real careful not to startle him. I try to hit the carpet gently so he feels tge vibration. He's totally deaf. My vet said its common in older cats.
 
The freeze dried food Max devours, Feline Natural Lamb and Chicken was high phosphorus. They tell me now that it's been reformulated and us now 1.1%. It's also not high sodium. I just wrote for the new carb percentage.

Max is having a blue day.

Hi Ruth. I was feeding S&C but it's too high in phosphorus for him now. They are telling me that Feline Natural is now 1..1 and no carbs but I don't see how it can be that low. He loves it so he gets a few pieces after fluids. I'll give him a few S&C after fluids if he need a change. Thanks for thinking of us.
