Yeah, I thought that....once upon a time.
They are easy when they are healthy. You give some food, have a litter box and they come to you when they need loves. Fairly independent and less care compared to a dog on a daily basis.
But once ill/need daily care....the independence is like a thorn in the caregivers backside.

That's exactly right. I guess Rufus is more like a child or a dog in that he used to talk all the time and follow me wherever I went, and always wanted to eat what I was eating. Constant attention. Now that he doesn't feel as well, he withdraws a bit more, but then I'm the one obsessed with every detail in his lifeYeah, I thought that....once upon a time.
