Surprised me too but my finger was wet and it smelled from lantus when I touched the spot.. Maybe he had a lot of depot and was thinking of a reduction or a little got in or a delayed reaction might still happen all I can figure.

That looks like a normal Max cycle, minus the fur shot. Maybe there was a drop on the syringe that you didn't see, and that's what got on your finger. Either way, he's looking good.
