So the vomit yesterday was due to eating some grass. I bought some organic wheat grass as all the cats seemed to think they needed out to eat the grass. This I know hasn't had any chemicals on it. I put some outside in the cage and one inside. Did that Saturday. All three baskets looks like they have been mowed. So will remove and let them recovery for a bit.

So BW looks great except for the anemia. So will be researching that to see if anything can be done. Additional information is in yesterday's condo. Any further suggestions are welcome.

He ate all of his overnight food. Last night he did get the SEB. I am seeing a bit of correlation of SEB = CP not SEB = a 75-80% meal happens that night or next day. So I think it does help him.

If things continue, I am going to try and eliminate the metronidazole over time. I have gone from 50mg to 37.5mg next step will be 25mg per day.

He has been approved for his dental so will need to put some money aside and pick a good time to get that done. He has some bad gingivitis and periodontal disease happening. He is good health now and I think clean teeth will help keep him healthier then leaving them alone at this point.

Did your vet give any indication as to the type of anemia or could you ask if it’s clear? I think there are additional labs that can be done to narrow it down if not. Maybe not something you need to run out and do, but put on the list for next time? There is one type associated with IBD. I think there are things you can do on your end before it gets so bad he needs a transfusion. I know vets don’t often put stock in vitamins and holistic treatments, but it doesn’t mean they can’t work. My vet pretty much laughed about the b vitamins and anemia but said I could try because it wouldn’t hurt. It worked. If it’s an iron deficiency, there are safe ways to go about helping that too. I hope you can narrow it down.

I’m glad the SEB is helping. I think it’s pretty great too. Hasn’t been helping Asia since she has an acute thing going on, but before there, I was able to stop cerenia and use SEB exclusively and no acid tummy barf.

Glad they enjoyed the cat grass. Maybe if it’s a regular thing, they won’t feel the need to mow it clean in one sitting. :rolleyes:

@Stacy & Asia

She didn't say what type. She did indicated that it happens in pets with chronic conditions that they start to become anemic but she did say it was not IMHA (which I have dealt with before with my dog Kayia). When I asked what could we do about it, she said until his HCT drops to 15% - nothing. At that point he would need a transfusion. Then she said that I am an amazing cat Mom and I take good care of him in going to the boards and finding answers I may know more then she does at this point about IBD and FD.

Speaking of Kayia...when she was IMHA, I started her on some really refined algae supplements. It was to help her body with making RBC's. I had a bunch of it when she left us, I threw it out as it was expired. You just sprinkle into the food. Hmmm...

So I did go to Tanya's site but didn't have a chance to go through everything. He is on B12 injectable shots right now. 0.25ml once a month. It is the cyanocobalamin type. Which is a synthetic version from what I have been able to read. So it may not be the best type to be using. He started on it in the beginning as his B12 was in the tank. Now the bottle I had expired 4/30/18. So I just picked up a new bottle when we were in and gave him another dose then as I figured he would just pee out what he didn't need. His B12 on the latest BW doesn't seem too bad to me. I could give it every 2 weeks instead of every 4 weeks.

I checked out the IBD site for a quick scan but need to go back for a read to see if there was any information on there.

My hope was to get rid of the anti-biotic he is on, then try the cerenia again. We did a trail of every second day and he vomited every second day. I would try it again. I am not sure about the appy meds though.

That SEB has helped my Civvie Rain as well. She eats all her wet food and some dry. Though she does not like extra water in her wet, I just mix in the SEB and let it be.
