5/4 Gordy AMPS 180 | PMPS 135

The way I get the methimazole into Forrest is by taking the pill and crushing it between two spoons. Then I take a spoonful of his food and give that to him first to eat and don’t give him the rest of his food until it’s all gone

The pill pockets are helpful but not sure how much the pea ( carbs) will raise his BG.

Its a trade off I am willing to make. He doesn't actually seem to be super duper carb sensitive so time will tell. I've read on other threads that the Duck and Pea is the lowest carb option for the pill pockets, so fingers crossed.

Forest doesn't mind the taste?

Here in Jacksonville, a plane went off the runway at our naval base and is in the river... everyone got off ok, except there's still pets in the cargo hold. I hope they are ok =/ but the plane has been sitting in water for hours so the officials say they aren't optimistic. How sad :(:(:(:(

I saw that briefly this AM when I was up the first time to TFS , but didn't know about the animals in the cargo... how sad!

ETA: Forrest doesn't seem to mind the pill being in the first spoonful of food. I make sure that the crushed pills is in the middle of the spoonful.

Thrivingpet carries methimazole in compounded transdermal if you decide to go that way in the future

The duck & pea pill pockets raised Gizmo's BG. Significantly!
My hope it to switch to the transdermal after we get his number down. I think the vet wants to be more aggressive because she was alarmed by his T4 number.

I'm just rolling with it and making sure he stays happy.

Nice start for Gordy. I hope he surfs safely today. I think the pill pockets raising BG is an ECID thing. It's never affected Furball's numbers.

PMPS 135

I gave him his pill 30 minutes before TFS, so I dont think it affects his sugar much. But mannnnn, these Pill Pockets STINK. Gross.
