Thanks for all the suggestions on using the calipers. I thought about using a light box, but the syringe doesn't lay flat and that drives me crazy. I use a small stack of post-it notes to prop up the syringe while I am viewing it on my phone for accuracy. DH was able to give me a head magnifying glass, like the one @Wendy&Neko mentioned last night, so I can put it on and have both my hands free. Using the calipers are still a little difficult, but I figure with practice it will get a bit easier. I am not sure I am using the calipers right or measuring in the right location, but I guess the key is to be consistent no matter what.

I did go back to a .25 unit dose this morning. Sammy's numbers were okay last night, but I would prefer not to see any blue, and I think I need to go back to my previous thought of holding for 2 weeks in good numbers before trying a reduction. And the 126 and 128 from a few days ago should have been my clue that he wasn't quite ready for a reduction.

Now that I am using the calipers, it will hopefully be a bit easier to decrease by smaller amounts and hopefully he will be able to hold the reductions.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

I'm not sure I use calipers the way Marje demonstrated in her video, but I figure I'm giving a consistent dose and that's all that matters. It is consistent for me. You'll get used to them eventually.

So today Sammy had a bit of NDW, or maybe it was a but of panic, because right when I was getting ready to take the +7.5 test Sammy jumped up on the counter and nearly missed. If I had not been standing right the and grayed him he probably would have fallen on the floor, but I quickly grabbed him and put him on the counter, and I suppose that little miss step could have caused a bit of panic that raised his sugar. But as you can see he has a wonder PMPS tonight. And that was even after giving him a small amount of 10% food with his +10 snack. I am sort of wondering if having a tiny bit of higher carb food close to PMPS helps to do that double dip. I know that is what usually happens with the +10 snack, but maybe his carbs haven't been high enough that late in the cycle. Sometimes it drops and sometimes it doesn't.
