Yesterday's condo

Still can't quite believe that I am leaving for Germany today. :nailbiting: I guess I will have to bring my suitcase out at some point soon and start to break the news to the furry crew. Even though it pains me to look at Walter's ss, I keep reminding myself that those are safe numbers and that I can start increasing his dose as soon as I get back. Luckily, everyone is doing well here and I am hopeful that Linda won't have any problems managing Walter's Glucose levels. (lots of anti-jinxes!)

The three baby girls are doing well at my friend Kristen's house. She took them to work with her yesterday (she's a vet tech) and, unfortunately, Fern's eye will have to be removed. It has already ruptured, she can't see out of it anyways and it is only causing her pain. Since she is still so little and anemic, they want to wait a few days to put her under, but her surgery is tentatively scheduled for next Friday (June 10). Amazingly enough, Fern is social and playful and loves the turbo scratcher.

Flora (black) is also doing well and playing. Her eyes are already looking better after 2 days on eye meds and she decided to get up at 3:30 am to demand food and start playing. Iris, the little Siamese girl, is still under the weather. The vet was concerned that she might have panleukopenia because she was so weak and lethargic and would barely keep her head up, but her CBC showed a very high white cell count, so it is probably "just" an infection. She is on Clavamox now and looked a little perkier this morning.

Alright, I better get moving and get organizing. Sending lots of light and vines to all in need. 060416 Iris.JPG 060416 Flora.jpg 060416 Fern.jpg

Yes it's time to tell the babies about your trip! Boomer has been giving me looks all week and I just got the suitcase out yesterday! I'm pretty sure he must have been reading the condos.

Walter's numbers are fine; better high than low for the next few days and you can get him back on track when you're home! I hope you have a wonderful trip!!

Have a great trip. Walter will be fine. I'm sorry Fern has to lose the eye, but she'll feel so much better when it's removed. I'm glad the kitties are improving. Sending prayers for a safe trip and all the kitties.

Have a great, safe trip Christina. Walter will get back to business when you get back in no time. Poor little Fern....so young but hopefully the surgery will fix her up for a long life of healthy & happy kitty. Good to hear the other two are on the mend. Extra scritches for all your babies!

Safe travels Christina! Enjoy yourself and don't worry too much about everything back here :bighug:

Hope Iris feels better soon and all goes well with Fern's surgery too

I think today might be the day where we see some blue on this dose! Blue is good, Walt - but no diving expedition and absolutely no swimming with the sharks!

...and the suitcase is out and the dogs already look depressed. :( As for the cats, they are pretty sure that it is just there for them to climb in. I keep counting cats to make sure that no one is coming on the plane with me.

Safe travels, and have a great vacation! Walt will stay safe (anti-jinx) on this dose. So glad the kittens have found new safe places to live. Fern will be okay without the eye. She can be a pirate like a Bubba. :)

Love that Siamese, but then the black one tugs at me, and then the black and white would match my Tux. Oh such decisions.

Sorry about Ferns eye and so young yet. I'm sure everyone will be fine, you planned well. Have a great time and travel safely.

My vacation clothes are laying on the bed and Boomer is laying on top of them. I think he's hoping to be packed along with them lol

My civvie Minka used to climb in any suitcase that was open, and if it was closed, she'd lay on top of it, like You're not going anywhere without me!

I'm sure all your furbabies will be okay while you're gone. I'm so glad the kittens are in such good hands. Sorry about Fern's eye, but she's young enough that she'll adjust quickly and will never miss it. We took out Cinco's remaining eye because he kept getting infections and it was uncomfortable. He couldn't see out of it, either, so why leave it in? He felt so much better once it was gone! Fern will, too.

Safe travel vines to you, and safe number vines to Walter. Healing vines for all the kittens. Enjoy your trip!
