Hi Everyone,

Rusty had a good day today with lots of energy and good appetite. He had lots of outdoor time and chased Leyla off "his" property twice. He can really move when he wants to! But he never goes beyond our property line and never follows her across the street (where she lives).
Today I went back to the local petfood store/laundrymat. They had gotten in a whole case of the old-formula Wellness Chicken!!! I bought all 21 cans on the shelf!!! Tonight Rusty had some for dinner and he ate it readily! How wonderful to see him eat with a little enthusiasm.

Yesterday afternoonI got the call from the Subaru shop that my car was ready, so I jumped in the "lender" and drove to Burlington VT, getting there shortly before they closed. My car is sounding great. They found 3 oil leaks (the drive-train warranty applied) and the cost would have been $1400. if I had missed the warranty period by 1,500 miles! That was cutting it close! I did have to pay for the repair to the A/C condenser. I'm still considering purchasing a new car because the winters here are hard on cars. Most of my friends replace their cars every 3 years. My dilemma is that the Subaru automatic transmission gets much better mileage than the manual transmission (26 mpg city/32 mpg highway, as opposed to 22 mpg/ 28 mpg). But here in winter I think a manual will get you out of more snow/ice situations. My friend, who really knows cars, says that I should go with the automatic because they are really good now (as compared to years ago). But I hate to give up the stick shift. And when I was driving the "lender" I found that my left leg and foot got tired because they missed having nothing to do.

We are all set for Canoe Outing, which begins on Monday.

Hope you all are having a good weekend. I'm still mopping up water in the basement (and we had lots of rain yesterday). I think this weather will never end!

Yeah for Rusty's happy appy!!....and double Yeah for finding the food!!!

Good boy Rusty...keep that intruder out of your property!!....some kitties just don't respect boundaries, do they?

Wow....cutting it close with that 1500 miles, but sure happy you got the oil leaks fixed and it was covered....that can get really expensive, really fast!! I agree that the old automatics weren't that great, but I agree with your friend....the newer ones are a lot better in messy weather than they used to be!

Sure hope the weather doesn't ruin your next canoe trip....You haven't had the best luck this year getting out!

Yo Rusty....the burgers and hot dogs is awesome!! You is such a good man on da grill!!! Some things are best left to da boyz ;)

Thanks for the laugh Ella. I learned how to drive on a stick shift in rural PA. That was the family car. Now it's automatic. I'm glad you found Rusty's old formula Wellness Chicken.
