Yesterday

I'm breaking internet silence briefly to get our condo up so you'll all know we're still here.

Harvey had a rough morning. He ate about half his t/f/s meal and a little of his breakfast, and then nothing, so I gave him his tummy meds. About an hour later he threw up all the food he'd had. I decided to give him about half an hour to see how he did, then I was going to give him a shot of Ondansetron. Only twenty minutes passed and then he wanted to eat. NOT either of the flavors he'd just thrown up, though. I offered baby food, but he only took a couple of licks (he used to adore it, but the past few months he hasn't been interested in it). I opened a fresh can of food and he was right under my feet and ate every bite. I had only given a small amount, and I made him wait 15 minutes before I gave him more. He did fine, so he got seconds, then 15 minutes later he got thirds. Then I gave him the rest of his meds. His appy petered out after that, but about ten minutes after I picked up his dishes (at +10), he showed up looking for a snack. Sorry, bud. You're waiting for dinner now!

I was so excited by the green AMPS and was hoping for an all green day, but alas, he's already blown it. :(

I thought the pantry would take me a full day. I got a late start yesterday, and progress was further thwarted around 4:30 pm when the A/C decided to check out. DH came home soon after and checked everything he could think of, with no enlightenment. We have a whole house warranty, so I got on line and submitted a service request. This morning I got a call bright and early. The next available appointment was today (yay!), between 11 & 2 (boo!). DH and I were scheduled for our quarterly lunch with our financial advisor at noon, so I asked when the next appointment would be. Monday! So much for lunch! DH would have to go it alone. I went back to working on the pantry, and the guy showed up at 1:40. He soon found the issue: the control board on the furnace had gone bad. He didn't know how soon they could get a new one, but it' will be at least Monday before it can be fixed. :arghh: It wasn't bad out today (mid 80s with a cool breeze), but it's supposed to get progressively hotter starting tomorrow. :blackeye::( Expect me to be very grouchy!

I finally got everything out of the pantry, purging and repackaging along the way. There are no empty surfaces on the first floor of the house - everything is full of stuff from that pantry! Good thing I have leftovers for dinner, as there's no room to prepare a meal. :p Looks like it will be TV trays in the family room again tonight. I'm planning to get in there and cleans after t/f/s, then I'll start putting in some shelf paper later tonight and hopefully get everything back in tomorrow. I have a big garbage bag full of stuff I threw out. I'm a packrat, but I think I did a pretty good job of purging.

My DFIL had his cardioversion today. It was unsuccessful in solving his issues, so they put him on some meds and they'll try again in 5 weeks. He sounded pretty discouraged on the phone this afternoon. He's always taken such good care of himself that this is just driving him nuts.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :bighug:

Vines and prayers to Elise for her DM. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

:bighug::bighug::bighug: to Amy and her family as they adjust to life with a big hole in their hearts.

does it look like this?

your morning sounded rough, glad he was willing to eat so quickly.....

Expect me to be very grouchy!

Baby!!! :D I'm just knocking on wood that my AC doesn't go out. It's 98 here with a heat index of 110. Ugh.

Sending good appy vines for Harvey and healing vines for DFIL. My dad's cardioversion worked for a short time and then he had to go back on his meds. So frustrating, I know.

P.S. You always helped me a lot...with dosing, ss's, moral support, etc. Don't underestimate how much of a difference you make here! :bighug:

@rhiannon and shadow (GA) , is this a challenge????

@Shelly & Jersey, you are so kind to say so. I wasn't looking for compliments. I was trying to respond to some comments about how people should be able to interpret the SS, etc. I suck at that. I think we need to know our weaknesses. How else can we compensate for them? Your comments, and Kathy's, let me know that I have managed to do so. It's appreciated.

BTW, Shelly, I sure miss your wonderful sense of humor and Jersey's evil tendencies! I hope all is well with you guys.

Harvey was very ready for dinner when DH got home late. He's CPC already and just finished his second helping. :) I was not happy with his PMPS, but we'll keep plodding along....

what?
you think I pulled everything out for a competition?

guess you don't remember this picture from more than a year ago... when we had to clean out our kitchen
because of sawtooth beetles ( that hatch out of old fashioned oatmeal if you keep it too long ) ( the oatmeal
has their eggs in it if you buy the unprocessed one just like flour has weevil eggs that eventually hatch there )
i keep all that kind of stuff in the freezer now....

you couldn't compete with me for packrat-ting....

i could show you a picture of one of my closets.... it's so full that you can't get another hanger on the rod
or off of the rod either.....:smuggrin:

I wasn't looking for compliments.

I know you weren't at all. It's just that some of the discussion really broke my heart. You all help in so many ways, and I feel like that sometimes goes without recognition and appreciation. I just want you guys to know that you've made a difference for me.

Jerz has been really quiet lately, which concerns me. She must be plotting something evil. When the weather breaks, I'm sure she'll put some devious plan into action. Fortunately, I haven't been cleaning out any pantries lately so she hasn't had the opportunity to knock heavy canned goods off onto my head.

BTW, you and @rhiannon and shadow (GA) are driving me crazy. I am THE anti-packrat, and I just want to come de-clutter and organize for you both. I'm going to have to boycott Harvey's condo if you two start swapping pictures! (That's not a facepalm smiley. That's me hiding my eyes.)

Looks like Harvey and China spent another day together.....but maybe they had a disagreement and Harvey went up on the beach for awhile.

They're such good buds...I'm sure he'll cool off soon and come on back down to swim with his bestest girl.

I'm not even getting into this feud!!!.....LOL

no wait, @Shelly & Jersey
you can come here.....

i need the help.... that is, if you actually organize....

i have a friend who offers to bring a trash bag over any time......
i actually want to get a handle on it....

now if I could just find a personal trainer to make me exercise.... life might be good.....

guess i need to start taking pictures?

i'm trying to....

trying to get to the
" a place for every thing and every thing in it's place"
it's just slow going since I have 5 part time jobs.... don't feel like doing my own after working....
and i still have a bunch of stuff of my dm and dgm to weed thru....
just started listing some of her tarzan collection and star trek collection on etsy last weekend.....
now if someone would just buy it.....

I don't trust Tricia to post a warning when the pics come out and now you're luring me in with tags, Rhiannon. Shame on you two!

I like to de-clutter and organize, Rhiannon, and please thank your friend for me. Trash bags are a sign of friends who really care. My parents now receive trash bags for both Mother's and Father's day. They don't like me very much.....

Tricia ~ How many days have you been working on the pantry? And how many little treasure troves do you have stashed in your house? Just need to know so I know how many days I need to avoid your condo.

:):):)

Sending tummy vines for Harvey and prayers for your DFIL.

Good luck with the pantry reorganizing. It looks like it's going to take a while. :p

Tricia, so sorry about your rough start with Harvey but, glad to hear he did start to eat for you.

Your panty cleaning out looks like moving day. What a job! Always nice though when it is complete and you can find everything you are looking for.

ah you guys are making me laugh and what better way to start the day!
Up until today I was wishing I had a pantry. Now I'm not so sure lol!
Harvey, eat your fuds for your mama bean!

that's great!

i'm not pulling it all out but I'd say we'd have roughly the same amount of food in the kitchen....
but...
we also have two small hall closets dedicated to food.....
storing nuts, cereals, freeze dried cheeses and fruits, pasta sauce, cereal, pasta, ghee, beans....
flour ( frozen of course) oatmeal ( frozen now) and water (toilet paper and paper towels and plates too)
and we cycle thru it with replacements....
and lots of canned cat food /dog food

the way the country/world is going, we like to have a few months worth of food...
too many things to go wrong and stop the normal commerce of food transportation
sounds like there could really be some rioting this coming presidential election.....

i worry for the ones who only keep 10 cans of cat food in the house at a time....
get out there and stock up.... especially you city dwellers...
icon_lol.gif
o_O
i'm not mormon but there is some wisdom to their rule to have stockpiles in the house....

looks like you and i will make it for a while, Tricia....
