We are feeling much better today. Rooh is sleeping now with his head down. He did not feel well yesterday and spent all day sitting with his head up. He usually sleeps all day with head down. I finally got some milk thistle down him by mixing it with raw egg yolk and he starting feeling better about an hour later. Someone pooped while i was asleep and it looked like his. Large and hard not very much.

Today we have on our patient pants trying not to let the BG numbers worry us. Checked for ketones yesterday and was neg. I am not able to catch his urine, he freaks too much if i come close while he is in the box so I dipped it in the small puddle on top of litter as soon as he got out. Im hoping this is sufficient. he will not use a box without litter.

that is sometimes how I get the ketone reading too - dipping the stick in the puddle of fresh urine
His poop is still a concern though - that was his first poop in 4-5 days? I once had a cat that was always on the verge of megacolon and it was quite stressful all around.

@Carol & Murphy

Yes the poop does worry me. Im trying a few new things. Upped his miralax, adding in slippery elm, and probiotics. Im going to give it another week and re-evaluate. He has been like this for a few years now. Some weeks are better than others. Im guessing the pain meds and anesthesia added to his constipation this week. He has been on raw for the past year. (primal freeze dried with lots of water). He is now back on fancy feast and that seems to help him poop a little more often. I was just happy to get him off of FF because i cant keep the other cats out of it and it makes them poop to much and gives one cystitis if she eats to much of it.
