Yesterday's condo

So glad that I managed to get a nap in yesterday afternoon! Walter went on a another shark hunting expedition over night and earned himself a reducie. I really hope that this latest reduction will lead to some less eventful cycles. The new semester is starting on Monday and there's just no way I can continue to get very little sleep night after night. Or stay home with Walter day after day to make sure that he won't take a big dive on me.

Mandarin finally showed some improvement over night and worked his latest dosecrease.... but he is right back to wearing his pink pants this morning. Maybe he just had a little too much fun at the party last night.

And I just dropped little Ivy off at the vet's - she is getting spayed today. Trying not to worry too much... and I can't wait to pick her up this afternoon.

Walter is looking so good. You might just have to give a tad less juice when back to work to prevent the low greens, just a drop or two. I've had to do that at times.

Hopefully, Walter's +2 means that it's safe for me to head out for 2 hours and run some errands. Walter, in your case, flat is good!

Ahh, our little Mandarin is just having a tough time. Think today is some NDW and hope it will pass and better numbers to come. Gee Walter, time to slow it down a bit buddy. Extra vines and prayers for my sweet little Ivy girl.

Walter listened to me and is still hanging out on the beach. :) ...and now I am out of things to do and starting to worry about Ivy. Hope my little girl is doing well. Three more hours before I can pick her up. :nailbiting:

Ivy is back home and doing great. She was hungry, thirsty and really had to use the litter box... and it sounds like she had A LOT to say at the clinic. ;)

However, there's still no game plan for Iris. After talking to the vet in person, she is not even sure if the Calici is really what is causing her symptoms or if she might have a polyp. Ideally, she would like to take some x-rays of her skull - but Iris is so snorkely that they are afraid to put her under for that. There is one other kitten from the same "box" (i.e. that was dumped in the same box but is in a different foster home) with similar symptoms. They did some tests on him too and are waiting for results.

Mandarin's moving in the right direction...keep it going buddy.

Mandarin is continuing to move in the right direction. His PMPS is almost 100 points lower than his AMPS. :joyful: I would really like to get some sleep - especially since I am doing a 5k with one of my dogs tomorrow morning - but I want to see some better numbers more than I want my sleep. So bring it on, Mandarin. ;)

Mandarin, keep working that dose. You can do it.

Walter, on the other hand, you might want to consider working your dose just a tad less furiously! Bean needs sleep.

Love the "she had a lot to say at the clinic" line. Bet the techs were glad to see her go home! As was her bean. All sounds well with the spay.

Vines you get some rest before "work" starts. Well, the pay-for work work, anyway.

Here goes my dream of sleeping for a change. Walter once again dropped to 43 (while his brother is once again headed in the wrong direction). Sigh. Who needs sleep anyways, right?

My 50 years with kitties has left me noting that the simple answer is almost always the right answer. Here is a kitty with a litermate with the exact same symptoms. Hmmm, the calici virus is very catching. Here you have Ivy with the symptoms of a calici virus . Hmmm. I bet Ivy and her littermate have the calici virus, and thank the gods above that Ivy was too snorkly to waste your money of some skull xrays.

There's an old medical parable about this sort of thing. My source is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebra_(medicine)

Zebra is the American medical slang for arriving at an exotic medical diagnosis when a more commonplace explanation is more likely.[1] It is shorthand for the aphorism coined in the late 1940s by Dr. Theodore Woodward, professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, who instructed his medical interns: "When you hear hoofbeats, think of horses not zebras".[2] Since horses are common in Maryland while zebras are relatively rare, logically one could confidently guess that an animal making hoofbeats is probably a horse. By 1960, the aphorism was widely known in medical circles.[3]

Ack! Walter! Are you trying to make your bean go crazy from lack of sleep?? I hope he levels out soon so you can get some sleep.

Mandarin, stay flat for now. Mama bean can't deal with both of you diving. Although tomorrow we'd like you to work the juice, please.

Aw, I can just see Ivy letting the vetty clinic know what she had on her mind. :joyful::kiss: Paws crossed you get a good answer for how to help poor little Iris soon. And I hope Flora is doing okay. It's funny, poor Fern had to lose an eye but she's the one with the best health out of the three of them. o_O I know Iris's breathing and not getting better must be making you crazy (along with everything else going on and going back to work next week). I can't believe the summer is nearly over!

Wow, Walter, where's the fire? Slow your roll, dude!

Well, the depot was most certainly in play here, but you could take another reduction if you feel like you need to. Just be aware you might have to go back up to 1.5 once the depot readjusts. You do need to find a dose that you can shoot safely once you go back to work...

Ivy, I love that you let everyone know how you felt about what they did to you! Keepin' it real! :)

Sweet little Iris, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Your symptoms are so like my Harvey's. I understand what you're going through, baby.

Mandarin, yellow is better than pink, but blue is better than either. Think about it....;)
