It's a good morning for Tiger! Hope you all can have a good one too!
Anyone tried fish oil for arthritis (contains omega 3)??? Going to start today. Stay tuned!

Kitten Ray has gained a pound now at 14 weeks!-been with us 7 weeks. She will be going to the vet on Tuesday for her first check-up! She gets de-wormer today.

Campa is doing well as an inside only kitty! Didn't think that would ever work out-but it is! She does miss hunting-used to bring us her birds and lizards...

:cat:

Great news about Tiger and Campa and Ray! I have used fish oil, but it wasn't really for arthritis. Some of my cats will eat their food with it in there and others won't. Good luck! I know some people use the 1 TDC stuff for pet arthritis. Dogs will swallow it whole, I suppose. I am using it on a cat right now for his teeth (it's a supplement for joint and periodontal health.) I have to cut the capsule and put it on his gums.... not sure how much really gets on the gums... but it gets into his mouth anyway! He doesn't mind it. I get some on my fingers and it smells a little fishy/soapy? I am still trying to figure out the smell, but Marcus doesn't care. He just wants his food afterward.

Hi Kathy. My vet recommended Omega 3, 6 and 9 for my arthritic dog and it seemed to help her so it might help kitties too. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of Ray. Good to know Campa doesn't go outside. I used to let my cats outside many, many years ago but I no longer do unless I am with them. Too many dangers.

All of a sudden Tiger can't walk again--worse than last Friday night and he has had no Friskies seafood! He is falling, can't even stand up.
Wondering if it could be low blood sugar?? Maybe he was so high for so long that 82 is hypo for him??
Grasping at straws for ideas here.

Hi Kathy, I think you need to get him to see a vet. Doesn't sound like neuropathy or arthritis or hypoglycemia.
Are you getting videos so you can show the vet?

Sorry I can't be of any help!

So he only ate about 5mg worth of the gaba. He is relaxing now. Don't know if he was meowing it hurts or leave me alone when we touched his back legs!
Sent a 40 second video via email to my vet. Hopefully she will see it over the weekend. We will call Monday and try to get him in to see her as soon as possible. We already have a Tuesday appointment for Ray that maybe we could trade if nothing else.
So he will be at 2.25 in the morning. Didn't see that drop to 37 coming! He has been steady lately but not tonight!

Do his back feet feel cold or warm? Is he resting comfortably. I am so worried about Tiger. Praying for Tiger now. If he doesn’t improve I would get him to the vet.

Hope you can see the vet sooner. :bighug:
Thank you Elise. You are wonderful to care and help. I sent a video to my vet via email hoping she would see it over the weekend-sometimes she does that-she is very dedicated. Might hear from her tomorrow.
He doesn't seem to be in pain but I gave him a pinch of gaba to be sure and am planning more at bedtime.
