Another day, another cruddy cycle. He's been pegged in the yellows for 48 hours now, and honestly, at this point I don't know what else to do. I feel powerless to effect any sort of change. I increased to 8.5U tonight, but I don't know why this increase is going to make any sort of difference.

I know you're discouraged with Jenk's numbers, but try not to focus so much on them if you can

We all suspect he's got acromegaly or IAA or is just a high dose kitty....All you can do is keep increasing until it gets him where you want him

If he's feeling good otherwise, eating and sleeping, playing and doing all those "cat things", try to concentrate on those things....they're much more important in the long run.

@Chris & China - All of the outward qualitative signs check out just fine. That's always something we're thankful for.

It's the rather sudden onset and persistence of intransigent numbers, and the marked increase in insulin demand without much in the way of change, that is the source of frustration.

I held 8.0U for much too long hoping for a change. Moving forward, I'll start pushing aggressive dose increases until something change. That means sticking with the 6-cycle schedule and half-unit increases.

In the meantime, I'm going to read up on the tests involves for high dose conditions so we're at least not floundering in the unknown.
