My CRF friend wants me to add B12, BComplex, Folic Acid, and increase potassium. No clue how to bring down the creatinine. I got the phosphorus down. She also said to give him 1/2 a chicken liver 2X a week.

I agree on giving the B's. It's a great immune support for many issues. No idea about potassium and chicken liver but sounds like you have some good advise. Always sending vines and prayers Elise. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

BTW, Doodles cardiologist told me low potassium is caused primarily from not eating enough. Not sure if it's true or not but it was a concern of mine with the large dose of Lasik since it's a potassium robbing drug.

His potassium dropped to 3.3 from the 4's so even my vet agreed with that one.

Long term prognosis is not good unless his creatinine can somehow come down. No idea how to do that.

Did your vet indicate why he though the potassium dropped? You're doing everything possible for sweet Max. Wish I had any clue how to help and a magic wand.

I don't know if it helps buy the Creat number on my two CRF kitties ( litter mates) went up and down...hugs
Hoping Max's comes down..
More hugs

Sending lots of vines and crossing fingers for the Creatinine to come down.

I would second the B- vitamins. I think they work as a mild appetite stimulant too....

Urinating a lot can rob the body of potassium. Kidney disease causes large amounts of urination. So ear Max has been eating well so not his cause of low potassium.
