WCR: Most Ps in place. Appy is somewhere in the middle. She got cypro last night, which helped immensely as she was refusing to eat any of her dinner. She finished all of her overnight fuds and came into the bedroom this morning to reinforce my alarms...GET UP...GIVE ME FUDS. She's not eating a lot at one time, but little bits here and there. I got bed snuggles last night and currently have a lap kitty. :joyful: I'm figuring out how to get her to "keep her pill/pill pocket down"...I give it to her at a poke time and immediately chase it with Coconut Oil (she's LOVEs her coconut oil). So far, <knock on wood> so good.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but she seems to feel kind of ok today. <anti-jinx> Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a great Labor Day weekend.

Sending healthy vines to all our sugar kitties and their hoomins! Blessings!

Yay for happier appy...keep eating yer fuds, Shasta- they help you feel better! As you know, I have a love-hate relationship with the gelcap, but the pros really do outweigh the cons by far. Since Shasta is now anti-PP (I know the feeling all too well), the gelcap may be a good option. One of the pros is it really is impossible for them to cheek it and spit it out later when you're not looking, so you KNOW the meds have gone down. I would (and have) used it even if I'm only giving a single small piece of a pill, just for that reason...along with the fact that it keeps them from tasting the pill, and it keeps the pill from melting (and therefore preventing waste). Just something to consider if she decides to rebel again!!

Have a great day, Deborah!

Morning Deborah :coffee::coffee::coffee:

YAY for the cypro. That is good that it helped with the appy. Eat those fuds Shasta! Good luck with the pilling... never a fun thing, but wow if the coconut oil works: Awesome!

Have a great day today. I too hope your A/C is fixed.

Gel caps were the only thing that got me through Tiffany's illnesses. Get some size 3's from capsulize, thriving pets.com, I herb, or Amazon. You need no bigger than size 3 and you can combine pills into one capsule and chase with the coconut oil. Tiff caught on to pill pockets in less than two weeks when she tasted Pepcid. She never ate another. The larger the number the smaller the gelcap so I use # 3 or 4. The 3's aren't much bigger and you can fit more into them.

I'm so happy to hear her appy is slowly improving. That's great. As Amy used to say when Trixie was going through her big P-titis episode, "baby steps"!!!

I, too, even put single pills in gelcaps. As Amy mentioned, it keeps them from tasting it, and if they do spit it out, it isn't a melting, gooey mess. And awesome for putting two small pills in so you can send 'em both down at once.

Sending lots of appy vines.
