Need recommendations for acetyl carnitine powder for my fur baby with diabetic neuropathy. Does anyone have a 'sugarless' brand they recommend?

Have not heard of acetyl carnitine being used for neuropathy. Have you tried methyl B12?

My vet just recommended acetyl L carnitine also. Have you had any luck finding a 'sugarless' brand?

50 mg/kg PO q 12; This means 50 mg per kg of patient's weight, given by mouth, every 12 hours. Here is a website for calculating dose based on your kitty's weight. There is a drop down menu that lets you enter weight in lbs versus kg. Since Maestro weighs 17 pounds, his dose is 385 mg every 12 hours.

You'd ordered capsules. That was the hard part - finding pure and powered. Thanks for the dosing link! I'll have to compare it to the 250 mg twice daily my vet suggested.

What does Richard Parker weigh? What’s the story behind his name?

Richard Parker weighs 11.6 pounds. He has a really strange lion face - he's named after the tiger in Life of Pi.

He's adorable! Has he been tested for acro? Are you home testing his Blood Glucose? There is an excellent spreadsheet on this forum that you can download and use. My vet was blown away by it and it really helps with dosing decisions.

I am home testing and I just figured out how to add his spreadsheet to my signature although I apparently didn't figure everything out perfectly so I'll keep trying. His numbers have looked good for months, but I've just now started keeping the spreadsheet. We don't know why he can't walk. I also have a cat I got in the 1990's that is now deaf and blind. Everywhere I go I smell like urine. FML.

They do look good - that's why we're stumped that he hasn't been able to walk in a month.
