Have 11 YO cat with diabetes. Vet prescribed Lantus and I almost passed out when I went to pick it up at the pharmacy and was told it would be $120! Can't afford this. Is there a way to get the insulin for a better rate? Also, any recommendations for low carb/ hi-protein over-the-counter foods?sebby

The insulin you priced was a vial or a package of 5 cartridges.
I believe there are places that may be cheaper, plus you should keep in mind that the amount of insulin you use was make the insulin last a very long time. If you get cartridges or the pens, the insulin you get could last you for months. If 1 pen lasts over a month and the box of 5 you purchase is $120, the cost is spread out a great deal.

Others can let you know the cheapest places for insulin and other supplies.

There is a sticky on the supply closet about better pricing at Canadian mail order pharmacies.

For low carb commercial food, I use the non-fish flavors of Fancy Feast's classic line. List here.
