    Sorry - dumbass question,

I have been reading some other threads, and have picked up it seems you can purchase insulin over the counter (without prescription) in Canada/US? Really?? OMG I am amazed!! That would make life sooooooo much easier!!!

No wander I sounded such a nutter when moaning on about my vet refusing to prescribe a different insulin here in the UK. Insulin is prescription only here, and I am at the whim of the veterinary world as to what insulin I can get for my fuzzball.

Not much point to this post really, I was just so surprised I felt I had to confirm!!!

I think that is true in Canada, but not here in the US. The good insulins - Lantus, Levemir, PZI - all need a RX in the US. Some states require a RX for syringes, too.
