Spot just scored his first <50 reading. Feeding him some high carb food now and will recheck in 15 minutes. Ahhhh.... guess the low carb food is working :nailbiting:

Up is definitely good. And good that you caught the lime green.

Do not feed too much. You want to keep Spot a bit on the hungry side in case he drops again and you need to feed him. You will need to test every 20-30 minutes until the numbers are rising on their own (without the help of higher carbs).

Do you have karo/honey on hand? Lots of strips?

I have already taken my bedtime meds and cannot stay with you. If things get hairy, post a 911 in the Main Health Forum. It's late at night. If you do not get a response, post a 911 in the Lantus forum.

Here is the link to the hypo protocol in case you need to re-read it: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/how-to-treat-hypos-they-can-kill-print-this-out.15887/

Spot has dropped a bit from that 59. Carbs wear off quickly. Give him a low carb snack and test again in 30 minutes.

Thank you for the advice! Yes I have syrup & strips. He’s at 56 now at +6. Still too close for comfort so I’ll continue keeping an eye on him. He’s eating a little but not too much and otherwise seems fine, so I’m just watching and waiting at this point.

I'm swaying on my chair. Bed for me. I hope Spot does not keep you up half the night. You are doing a great job monitoring and keeping Spot safe.

    Holler if need be.

He seems to be on the way back up now. I'll check once more before I head off to bed too. Thank you for keeping an eye out with me! Sleep well :)
