Tubby has an abscess on his back, close to his shoulders- so he has a hard time licking the lump.
I found it the other day while petting him.
Pressing the lump does not hurt.
So I went to the vet . He confirmed an abscess and gave me Fuciderm gel to put on the lump twice a day.
It's sort of an acid and antibiotic and corticosteroid.
    I'm not impressed.

It does not seem to be available in the USA. The acid is fusidic acid and it is the antibiotic. The steroid is Betamethasone Valerate. I could only find that is approved for dogs.

    The instructions are for dogs.
My vet recognizes Tubby as a cat. [hopefully] and knows Tubby is diabetic.[Did a blood test for glucose two minutes earlier]
edit:Fusidic Acid Hemihydrate, Betamethasone Valerate ,and a whole pile of non-medicinal ingredients with 10 or more letters.
