Buddy gets some serious sores, and I have read about Atopica being a good choice. However is it safe for DB kitties? This would be his best bet other than Pred, which we believe may have developed or had some part in his on coming of DB in past treatments for them.

I have used Atopica for one of my civilians -- it worked quite well until he figured out how to avoid swallowing it. It was a fairly big capsule, so difficult to add pill pocket around the outside.

I don't know what impact it would have on BGs -- but less stress (from itchiness) is a good thing.

I have used it on two of my diabetic kitties - but I should say there were both in remission at the time. It does work well and I didn't see any changes in BG levels.
