What the best time to get an accurate bg number , 4 to 5 hours after a meal?
I just make sure it's at least +2. Beyond that, I've tried to hit a variety of times: sometimes before morning food, sometimes mid-cycle, late cycle, or +2 or more after evening food. My understanding is that once their OTJ the time isn't as important since they should stay in healthy ranges for the whole cycle now. However, if one of the experts has a different opinion, go with that ;-)
I just test whenever I remember/have a minute to get it done now. The only time I actually try to avoid is first thing in the morning when there may be some Dawn Phenomenon in the number so I usually wait until a bit later in the day. It does vary a lot though - it's been as early as 11 am and as late as 10 pm when I've got around to testing.
