So far so good with Mr Truffles. He is only on 1 unit twice a day and had 5 injections and 3rd day of wet food. He is v excited about a wet food diet and is wolfing it down which I’m pleased about as he had lost weight. My question is that they did an initial blood panel which is how he was diagnosed. Would the blood panel be higher done in a lab than using a home test meter? Also, how quickly would you expect to see improvement. To me he seems brighter already.

If you use a human meter to test at home it'll read lower than what your vet would measure. A pet meter like the AlphaTrak 2 would give vet-similar numbers but the test strips are exorbitantly expensive.

They can feel better fairly soon after you start insulin but it can take a long time to get BG to a well-regulated level.
