Hoping to find some beginner tips and helpful information. Boy Cat is a 13 year old Himalayan and a recent change in his demeanor prompted a vet check. He was diagnosed today and spending another night at the vet to get stabilized. Hopefully I can figure all this out.

    Thanks so much

    Welcome Majka and Boy Cat,
We all understand the overwhelming feeling you may have but this is treatable:bighug:! There is tons of information and experienced members her. It is a support group for YOU and your kitty. Will be helpful before you post on the Main Health forum to get your signature setup:

Will you be home testing? It really is our best tool in the FD kitty tool belt. A lot of us use a human glucometer and feed Friskies pate (non-indoor formula) and Fancy Feast classics (pate) versus Prescription diets. This is the Spreadsheet template we use to track BG numbers:

And this is good to have before hand, should you ever need it:

Feel free to ask any questions on the Main Health Forum :)

    Hello everyone!

Just new here :) Just wanna know what are the symptoms of a cat being diabetic? Does it loses appetite and often sleeps? Your answers are appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello IssFox!

It would be good if you can start your own new thread at the Main Forum and get the conversation going. This post I am afraid is lost within somebody else's post.

A very basic search brings up THIS as symptoms. Click on the blue word to open a link.

Clink on word HERE to read the very basic info on FD. I hope it helps.

Open the Lantus/Levemir Forum and read the Sticky notes at the - tons of info there! The Stickies are marked with yellow stars.
