Good Morning L & L :coffee:

We tried a smaller amount of food at +9 and he's a 5 pts higher. He also got raw rabbit for the first time for dinner and he wanted no parts of it! I was shocked. (Perhaps his 2:45 mouse snack outside was enough raw for the day) . He gave me "the look" you know, the "are you kidding me" look. So, I gave him mostly canned rabbit and a spoonful of raw. He ate it. Then at +4 feeding it was 2 spoonfuls of raw and the rest canned. He ate that too. Then this morning it was mostly raw and a spoonful of canned and he wasn't eager but did finally eat it. I had put the pumpkin it in and think I will save that for his canned only feedings.

Forrest on the other hand LOVED the raw and I never saw him eat so fast and had to restraint him from eating Bubba's. Usually, it's the other way around. I should hear from the vet today about his BW.

Sending vines to all Beans and Kitties.

Happy Day 12!

I hope Bubba decides he likes the rabbit better.

I take it that you can't order raw mouse anywhere? ;)

...that's great though that Forrest is enjoying the raw rabbit! At least Bubba is eating some of it, so it sounds like he is not totally opposed to it. I had to bring out the Forti Flora at first. My cats love Forti Flora and would probably eat anything if I sprinkled a little bit on there.

What kind of raw rabbit are you feeding, Bobbie?
It's ground raw rabbit from Darwins. Cheaper than Hare-today. I just read an interesting article about grinding meat, supposedly not ideal but Lisa Pierson grounds her food.......you just don't know what to believe. But, I did order taurine to add 1/8 tsp twice daily as freezing/thawing the raw depletes the taurine.

Guess you found a fud winner for the civvie:D Vines that it will be good news on the bloodwork!

Sorry but I just can't get past raw food - we discussed this before - I can't stomach sushi, or anything raw
I am sure I wouldn't be able to touch the stuff

Do you cook raw beef? It looks the same. Personally, with all Murphy's IBD issues, I would try it. Darwins has a trial first time order 10 lbs for 14.95. Not a big investment to see.

When Boomer was receiving just a wee bit of insulin or when he's OTJ I found giving a regular meal (instead of a small snack) at +9 lowered his BG. But ECID.
Happy Day 12! Almost there!

I tried a regular size meal last night and he was only 5 points lower, still 100. ugh. Think he is just going to run in the higher range of normal. We'll see.

Well after the OTJ trial you can switch the time you test; Boomer's +3 is much nicer than his AMBG.
His would probably be lower too. The only problem for us, is I am letting him out after breakfast so I can't depend on the +3 being accurate if he eats a mouse. Like yesterday, he eat breakfast at around 6, let him out and at 8:25 I see him munching down a mouse. :banghead:

Good Luck with it Bobbi! He seems to be running in normal numbers- so maybe he does just run higher- Trouble seems to be like that!

And Bubba does get some nice low numbers too!!! So excited for you both!!!

BFG runs higher than a lot of other kitties, last week he's been giving me 90 to 110 for his amps. (haven't updated ss for a while though:oops: sorry)

Come on BOB think green please, enough lazing about shoreside!

Great news about last night's raw success (for both and even bubba's interest, though minimal, is a good start). You're an inspiration for me to dive in with offering raw PDQ.

He gave me "the look" you know, the "are you kidding me" look.
At least it was a 1 unit ready to be served. When I tried raw for Small Kitty and Big Brother had to :

1: Buy a robot grinder / mixer
2: All vitamins and supplements from different places
3: One big turkey
4 : Debone it, grind it
5: Mix everything up in good ratio (big mess in itself)

THEN I got that ''Are you Kidding Me'' look .

It's just this morning that I threw away the 20 sandwich bags of grinded turkey standing by
in the freezer, what a waist !

Trust me, better go relax and not full scale production with that thing.

Live mice in the wood are way more simple if Bubba is a good hunter :)

That was a lot of work! That is why I went with the ground frozen complete meal first to see if they like it. Bubba ate total raw tonight! :) Momma is Happy girl! And he gave me a 71 PM number.

It does keep up on edge with higher running cats comparing to "remission cats usually run between 50-80 and some even as low as 40" It is what it is.

PM= 71 :D He ate total raw tonight. Yeah! I did have to put two YA zero carb treats on top of it to get him started and then he ate it all.

WoW !! 71 !!! You'll make me put my hands back in the mud for raw food preparation Bobbie !

Nice sight !

What if going outside in the wild PLUS eating wild food is not the best medicine ?

After all that what cats are built for.

Well, the 71 was before he got his raw dinner. We shall see if it continues. I am trying to balance his calories and regard what he " might" have eaten outside. Losing control of that variable is outweighed by having a happy cat with his tail up and getting some exercise rather than sleeping all day. It is such a balancing act. :cat: I couldn't do this before he was regulated or I would not have gotten him regulated.
