My cat food supplier has a "new" product called EVO canned cat food. It is supposed to be all meat. I tried a few cans and all my cats LOVE it, but of course I am concerned about my sugar cat and how good/bad it is for him. He has been in remission for over a year now and I certainly don't want to do anything to mess with that. Does anyone use it and what do you all think of it? Thanks.

All the Innova EVO canned foods are fine for diabetic cats :thumbup http://www.naturapet.com/brands/evo.asp The 95% meat ones aren't new. They've been on the market for a few years now. The food is on Binky's chart under Natura/Innova: http://binkyspage.tripod.com/CanFoodNew.html

Evo is fine for diabetic cats, I would just caution you to be aware the calorie content is higher. I have an obese civvie and while he loves Evo, the calories are a stickler for him.

I know a lot of beans feed their sugarcats EVO because the carbs are low. But the fat content is very high and the protein not so high. Remember the ideal food is low carb and high protein. The quality of the ingredients is apparently quite good so it's a reasonable choice. Just be aware of the high fat content. You might want to use it along with other, higher protein foods to balance that out.
