I'm finally changing Rupert over to ProZinc. Going to pick it up at my vet today start it tomorrow, i'm suppose to give him 4 u every 12 hours? I also put this on the Insulin forum with very little responses. I'm not going to start him out on 4 units. How many Units should I do for how long? I have read the ProZinc info on the insulin forum....

It is recommended that you start Prozinc at 1 unit. Some vets just don't understand dosing cats. They must think cats are small dogs. It is best to go slow with insulin. It's better to give too little than too much.

I'd do no more than a 1 to 1 swap, ie., 2 u twice a day. Less would be safer - maybe 1.5 u? I suggest you go read the yellow info stickies on the ProZinc forum and ask questions there.
