Chase is gone.

If he has stones they might be able to remove them. At least I have hope for the minute. Missing my 8 year old nieces birthday but since she wants to be a vet when she grows up, I think she'll understand. Praying so hard for thus little guy!

Still waiting at the emergency vet. They want to get another ultrasound tech to look at it and for a reason for the anemia. If he doesn't call back within two hours they will just go ahead with the surgery. I could get a good used car for the price. Hope he lives and they don't have to do half the things on the estimate.

Chase is going in for surgery now. Hopefully he will come through the surgery and recovery.

The surgeon said it might be 2 1/2 - 3 hours before he calls. Wants to wait until the breathing tube is out. Probably going to put in a feeding tube while he's under so they don't have to put him back under if he has problems afterward. Both vets said he looked remarkably good for a cat in his condition. Still able to stand, walk and headbut. Hope that is a good sign. Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. I really appreciate it.

Just got the call that he's out of surgery. They had to give him blood during surgery and meds for low blood pressure. Couldn't place a feeding tube due to the bp. Still in critical condition but over the first hurdle. Got stones out and removed the gallbladder. Biopysing several things. I'm going to bed. They said no news over night is good news. I'll get a call tomorrow am.

One step at a time He made it through surgery which is a big one.

Paws crossed for a good night. Get some sleep so you can take care of your boy tomorrow. Make sure you ask for lots of pain meds when you bring him home.

He's still lethargic and his red blood cells are low. Giving him another transfusion. I am not sure where this extra amount if money will come from and he still might die. Freaking out right now. Might have to see if I can borrow money from my parents or something. I won't be able to afford any more treatment so please keep praying.

I called them back and said not to do the second blood transfusion. That's about another thousand dollars along with more hospitalization so they were looking at around three thousand more. I just won't be able to find the money. If he doesn't rally on his own he will be on DNR. I'm heart broken that it is coming to this but I'm at my financial end. It will be so awful if he passes and I'm still in debt. Horrible that money ever has to be a factor. But I also think he's been given a chance and his body will either respond or not at this point. How do you go back to sleep after this decision?

Aww sweetie, don't go "there" in your mind. This is not about the money. Even if you had the money for further treatment, Chase may still not be able to pull through. You did all you could and now it is out of your hands. Sometimes we have to know when to let go although that is always always the worst time and decision.

Often doing more treatment nets the same result as not doing it, and so will keep paws crossed that he rallies but if not, we are here and we totally get it. Huge hugs. I really do know what you are feeling right now. Holding Chase up in prayer and you too. Try to get some rest.

I'm at the hospital saying goodbye but I can't keep myself from praying for that miracle. He needs to maintain his bp so he can wake up and try to rebuild blood cells. Don't think he can. But I'm not ready to say goodbye yet.

My father recently passed away. I was so beside myself that I went to see a Psychic. She told me not to worry, my Dad is having a great time playing with his dog that had also passed. We will see our babies again. Chase will have a great, pain free time while he waits for you.

I am so very sorry you are having to go through this. I know what it is like to lose a beloved pet. It is a shame that money sometimes has to be a factor but unfortunately sometimes it does. There is no shame in thinking about your financial state and ability to pay. That is responsible.
