Jackson did did not stomach his half can morning meal at 6, so I did not give him his insulin. Now at 11 he gets a quarter can snack which he devoured, and promptly threw up again. Is this typical? He's running around, his mood seems to be wonderful and he is hungry so should I be concerned?

He might be "scarfing and barfing" if he seems hungry and looks good. Try very small amounts of a teaspoon or so spread out over time. If the vomiting continues a call to your vet is a good idea.

Definitely keep a closer eye on Jackson. If mood stays the same I would just monitor his appetite and try and entice with smaller portions as Kris has suggested.

If mood declines I would call the vet as soon as possible.

Cat's are very good at hiding pain and discomfort. The first sign of discomfort YOU notice may not be the first time THEY have felt poorly.
