I have managed to get quit a few mats out, yay me and God love her little patient heart. But...she has terrible dandruff under them. Is there anything I can do to help that? She won't go for a bath. Last time we tried that both my DH and myself ended up seeing a dr. Adding fish oil with her IBD and Pancrentitis? What, where and how? :) TIA we are both so appreciative.

Lewis is a shorthair with dry skin and a sometimes nasty temper. He loves his wet and warm paper towel baths. One of the few times he doesn't try and sink his hooks into my face.:blackeye:

I find that brushing in the area each day helps to stimulate oil production. Baby is getting mats now, she’s been sick with her IBS & usually gets matted in spots & poor coat when she’s been ill. I would think a small scalp rub with natural oil like jojoba or vit e would help too. Good luck!

Also I think a natural moisteriser with oatmeal might help and relieve.

tux our big furry galore cat had that badly right before he got diagnosed. we dematted him and almost half his fur came out which is when we noticed how skinny he had gotten and took him to vet. i used the petsilver spray on him twice a day and added water to his food and it cleared all the dandruff/fungus up within a week. excellent product for all skin issues imo.

Unfortunately dry skin ( dandruff ) comes hand in hand with diabetes .

I know I'm not around much anymore @Phoebes but I thought I remembered reading coconut oil can work too :bookworm:, especially if Phoebes' IBS will be upset by Salmon oil. Good luck with your beautiful girl :cat:
