After feeding a meal, at what point can I get an accurate BG? Here's the situation:
Two hours before Dennis was due for his insulin, I thought he looked "off" so I checked his BG. He was only at 170 which is very low for him at that point. I wasn't thinking, so I let him eat dinner while I took his BG (otherwise it's impossible to take)....
If I take his BG when he is normally due for insulin, will the food he ate 2 hours prior cause an inaccurate BG reading? I certainly don't want to give him 5.5 units if the BG reading is influenced by the meal he ate.
